Revlimiters

Adding the Sports ROM changes the rev limiter of the car it is fitted to.

this is something they need to put in gt5 (if they are going to that extent) is letting you buy multiple rev limiters. So like you start the race and find out you have to much rpm, take a pitstop get a lower setting, corner better (unless your a drifter) and have a better chance at winning the race instead of flying around corners, spending most of the time with your face in the wall.

Bringing the rev limit down means you have to change gear earlier, which you can do yourself. :odd:

Also, on most racing cars, the rev limit can be changed from within the cockpit.

No like you have a 7500 rpm rev limit and its to much, take a pit stop, put in the 6000 rpm rev and then go and see how it does.
and like you said the boxes are inside of the car so put it close to the stearing wheele, isnt the computer box underneath that? wire it straight to that and we're off again able to travel at slowler speeds.

If you've got a 7500 rev limit and the engine produces max power at 7000rpm. If you put the rev limit down to 6000rpm, then the engine is still producing it's max power at 7000rpm.

You are maybe thinking about remapping. which can change the way the power is delivered. But basically, the more an engine revs, the more power it produces.

yeah yeah, and unless you take special procautions, the engine will fry at 9000 rpm, unless you have a specle built (i noticed on one of the race cars it went to 12000.

The Calibra is 12000.

I think the new BMW F1 engine goes up to 20,000rpm
