24 Hours of Le Mans B-Spec Spot Race - June 6-7 9AM US East Coast 3PM France

The entire 24 hour race will be broadcast live June 6-7 on twitch.tv/Alphicah

$10 Gift Card Code to Each Class Winner

Q: What is this?

A: This is a project I worked on months ago that collapsed under its own weight. Originally envisioned as a B-Spec endurance series, the project simply grew too big. The amount of testing, the grueling length of the races all resulted in me canning the project at the last minute. But then I had an idea. Just run the 24 hours of Le Mans. I already have all the testing finished and it wont be as grueling as running a half dozen 6 hour races.

Each class has been equalized as much as humanly possible. The P2 cars were given roughly 30% more horsepower and more upgrades to compete fairly with the P1 cars. Due to balancing issues, tire wear will be turned off.

Q: How do I sign up?

A: First, choose a car from the Prototype or GT class. Then choose 3 numbers for your three cars. Yes, every entry gets 3 cars to enter into the race (48 car grid). Post a message here in the thread with the above information.

Taken Numbers:

#02, #03, #1, #3, #4, #5, #6, #8, #10, #11, #13, #14, #15, #16, #18, #19, #21, #24, #25, #28, #31, #32, #33, #38, #44, #46, #50, #51, #55, #77, #77, #81, #85, #91, #95, #96

Strategy is key to winning a 24 hour race. Along with fine tuning your car's setup you may choose for each individual car a strategy bonus. You may choose between better fuel consumption, lighter weight, or better reliability/faster pit crew.

Reliability is also key in a 24 hour race. Each car's default reliability is 1 in 6, meaning each car has a 1 in 6 chance of breaking down. Depending on which bonuses you choose for each car, this may change. So for example, you may choose to use 3 different bonuses on all 3 cars, perhaps making one car the 'rabbit' with less reliability and the other two cars turtles who wait for the competition to break down, using superior reliability to win.

The strategy bonuses are:

Fuel Consumption Development
  • 15% better fuel mileage (As a negative reliability decreases from the default 1 in 6 to a 1 in 5 chance of breaking down)

Car Weight Development
  • 3% weight reduction (As a negative reliability decreases from the default 1 in 6 to a 1 in 4 chance of breaking down)

Reliability & Pit Crew Development
  • Reliability improves from 1 in 6 to a 1 in 8 chance of breaking down
  • +40 seconds faster damage repair
  • 25% better front splitter and wing damage resistance
  • 3 seconds faster pit stops.

24 Hours of Le Mans Schedule
May 23 - Test Day

(A 30 minute qualifying session will be held immediately before the start of the race)

It's a hard decision to make... I'm thinking to field my team (Harsk World Motorsports) with Peugeot 908, Audi R10, and Chevrolet Corvette C6R.

I will take #11, #24, & #38 as an Peugeot prototype

I want to reserve numbers 3, 18, 21 for the C6.R

EDIT: Running just GT can I have 81 instead of 18?

I'll have the Acura ARX-01B with numbers 26 and 27 for Pro and 32 for the Lamborghini Murcielago in GT.

Numbers 7, 9, and 97 please. I'll pick my car shortly.

Edit: Can we choose multiple car types for our 3 entries? Like 2 P cars and 1 GT?

@Earth you are a madman, and I love it. Requesting numbers 79, 85, and 95 (For the moment, if rally decides to join in I will gladly let him have it). Car selection is unconfirmed, but I will remain in GT. I'm thinking Lambo, S7, and C6.R, in that order.

Numbers 02, 03 and 41 for a trio of Murciealago R-GTs and a 63 for a Corvette C6.R. This is going to be nuts.

You beauty Earth! I'll take numbers 55, 66, 77. I think I'll go for the 908, but I want to check out the template first.

Edit: Yep, I'm going with the Peugeot 908.

@Earth do the cars have to have the same paint scheme?

OK I have you signed up. The cars do not have to have the same paint scheme. On the other hand, all 3 can be identical with the only difference being the number.

I'll take the Acura ARX 01b and the numbers 25, 44 and 46.

AJGH got the 18 locked up. I decided to let numbers and paint be free to make things a little easier

Sorry I wasnt clear guys but you can only pick one type of car. For example all 3 Corvettes or all 3 Porsche Spyders.

Im in a hurry right now guys I'll be back on tonight

My bad... :( I'll go with Corvette then.

Why 3 Corvettes instead of just one Corvette?

I thought that would be the case, but I've been wrong before.

Harsk.....It's a three car team. Meaning you are managing three cars, not the usual one.

Guys I've added the driver suit and helmet template to the first post

Also tonight I will add some examples of already painted templates to help with the car templates

So, one of them will be me, while these two will be the AI's, right?
Err, no. It's a B-spec thing just like nas', rally's, raven's, etc., so you can dictate the scheme and changes, but you won't be driving. The AI will drive all three cars, but they are your team cars and your team drivers.

What I don't know is this. Will Earth allow people to give names to the cars or the drivers? And, will he go further than all the other series and do what he did in FBS, allowing us to control the setups ourselves.

If the latter is true, I am inevitably and totally 🤬.

Take care of what you need to @Earth. We've got plenty of time.

No worries. I will go with the Porsche RS Spyder.

I sincerely (tend to) hope we are not doing our own setups as I don't have a lick of sense for them. It would be something different, for sure, but I would likely be right there fighting for last place! :banghead:

Did you run in FBS? If not, use the links in my sig and take a look through the threads. The videos are a good watch too, just ignore my guy.

No, I discovered the craziness of these B-Spec series around the time rally was starting his first season. I'll check it out. 👍

Darn. Well then, I'll have the 32 for the third Acura. I'm keeping the 26 and 27 though.
