RGT Landing - Gran Turismotography

After looking at the Week 46 Photomode/Photocomp Competition theme, I was interested in the challenge. I took some great shots, took them to photoshop, and from there I stumbled. I think my ideas are getting ahead of my skills, as I think several of these are pretty rough. But hey, it's experimentation. Critique the photos, and any tips would be appreciated.

My first Week 46 Photomode/Photocomp Entry

Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG with front license plate and bracket removed.

Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

Black bonnet modification (rough as it may be) and experiments with wheels.

Land Rover Land Stormer Concept

Enlarged Wheels, increased window tinting.

BMW

Experiments with softening and free-form modifications of wheels.

I feel it's very impressive work upon your behalf!

Feel free to drop by my gallery when you get the chance. 👍

your doin good for a first timer with the SL55, but the your tuning is not very noticeable because of how little u did, and im not sayin to add so much to the car that it doesn't even look like a car anymore. i can't tell u waut to add so u gotta figure out wut u need to make the car look like u did somethin to it. i love tuning cars, i have a couple cars tuned in my gallery, if u come though and look, might give u some ideas, and if u do decide to look at my cars, please comment, id like to no wut u think of them

Jetboys - Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. And I will stop by your gallery and comment.

Djskyline - Thank you, too, for the comment. I did look through your cars and posted my comments. Basically, I felt the SL55's styling was great, but I could have lowered it just a tad. Looking for examples on the web, I saw several styled this way and went by those. Hence, no other body alterations or the like. I'll save those for the Japanese cars.

Nice! Work man, keep it up!

P.S. check out my gallery for ideas, thats what helped me when i first started. Looking what other people did. I have alot to look at since i've i had a gallery since last July.

I have never been here before but I'm glad I did:)
You got really cool shots here in your gallery, The S2000 is lookin' good. The Prowler shots is really awesome man great shots and your photoshopped cars is well done:)👍

I can't really notice:
I think my ideas are getting ahead of my skills, as I think several of these are pretty rough.

So far they have been photoshopped very well! Keep it up:tup:

Master Yoda - Thanks for visiting my gallery and I will be sure to visit your gallery today. Comment much appreciated.

Fyffe - Everyone seems to like the S2000 shots, and that is one of my favorite cars on the game as well. I will take some more this weekend. I appreciate your comments and glad you looked around.

Niels - Thanks for the moral support. I am usually a pretty harsh critic of myself. The SL55 took a lot of effort to clean up. Both on my competition entry, where I removed the front license plate and frame to show the full front end and also where I converted the bonnet and wheels on the second picture.

I think I should have put more focus into the road and ground, maybe adding some splotchy white. The reflection in the first shot, I see now, should have been modified to account for the water drops. Any other tips?

Thanks for the comment, Niels!

They are both good but I like the second one the most great job:tup:
just ine question how do you get that rain effect???

The rain effect is really easy to do, and is just a few steps. If anyone wants to add this to the tutorials, I could make it more professional and all. But here are the steps.

Step 1
Open an image and on the layers panel add a new layer. Make sure this layer remains on top of the original layer.

Step 2
With the new layer selected click on Filter>Render>Clouds. Change the Opacity to 63.

Step 3
Click on Filter>Noise>Add Noise. Set the amount to 60, distribution to Gaussian and check "Monochromatic". Your image will now look grainy, which those grains will turn into the rain drops.

Step 4
Click on Filter>Blur>Motion blur and adjust the angles and distance value based on what direction you want the rain falling and so on.

Step 5
With the rain layer still selected, right click on the layer name and click "Blending Options". Set the blend mode to 'screen'. Then look at your image. I also adjusted the opacity and the fill opacity until I was satisfied.

It's a really simple process, and leaves a lot of room for creative tweaking. I didn't know if anyone else had attempted it before, and thought it was a great effect.

I always wanted to know how to do the rain, so thank you for leaking out this tip of yours. Anyway keep up the great work.

You gentlemen are welcome. I can't wait to see how some others use it. Like I said, I could present it in PDF form with some screenshots. But, after all, it's a pretty straight-forward procedure that involves individual tweaking.

Thanks for the comments as well and no prob on the tutorial.

Hey, I like it! Kinda reminicent to my Yellowbird mid-air backfire. :D

Excelent work.

Thanks for the comment, Jetboys. I just realized, too, that I posted the picture with the watermark still in! :dunce: I did that one other time and had to pull it out, and I thought I had fixed it. Oh well. :sly:
