I was cruising around Youtube looking stuff up about Pikes Peak and I ran into this... Pretty interesting... Rhys Millen is going to try and take the record from the "Monster" in the Unlimited class in 2010... Looks pretty quick!




-Edit: Looks like I shouldve read more into this... If Im not mistaken he already had a run on Pikes Peak and hit a low 11 minute run...

-> My suggestion would be that RMR should build this monster on a very limited run (like 5 a year, if demand consist). At least to offset its failed quest to conquer the Peak.

-> But I've heard that RMR will be using this car again next year on which there will be more paved sections of the Peak on which the PM580 exceled that section this year.

There's simply so many places to lose time on the Peak. It's like the Nurburgring, only you only get one shot per year to get it right. Getting a perfect time is as much about luck as it is the car and driver.

However, more tarmac means more speed all around...eventually, if they tarmac all the way up, we'll see guys in formula cars getting the top times.
