The word rice in the automotive world actually means Japanese Car. I don't see why everyone says "I hate ricers" it makes no sense at all. People even consider using Nitrous "riced out". It's pointless, people put body kits on for show, people say they look disgusting because of a big wing or altezza tails, they even call them "riceburners" just for that. It's just getting to the point where it's very annoying how people are using the term RICE incorrectly. It really means a Japanese car. If you drive a Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Daihatsu, Mazda, etc. and you say you hate ricers, you hate the car you have.

P.S. Big exhaust are usually for performance or show!

i am getting sick and tired hearing people complain about RICE

wont people drop it, and learn a new word

Shut up Rice Boy

ahah...this is funny...although i agree with some things like the nitrous and the exhaust. The nitrous is ok i guess if its a wet system. Those systems have been used in american muscle cars since the 60's.

whenever i think of rice i think of my friend whos form korea. he always asks what we had for breakfast, lunch, dinner then says in a funny asian voice "i had rice"

Now was there really any reason for that, what do you expect, hes thirteen, hes going to say ironic things, but he has as much right to veiw this forum as everyone else does. This doesnt mean that I agree with every thing he said, but come on, act your age.

Yes but Jeff you're new here, you don't know how many times PR or anyone else around here has had to reply like that to stupid people/threads/posts/whatever. Gets very annoying sometimes.

Actually, Iv been reading these posts for about a year and a half now, but I didnt have an email adress, so I couldnt sighn up.

But here it means someone who has done something evil to a poor, defenceless car. You'll understand eventually.

Do F1 cars have big exhausts? No.

Do rally cars have big exhausts? No.

Do supercars have big exhausts? No. Some have up to 4 (or more), but you can't stick your hand in one.

Big exhaust for show = rice.

Good call.... I have never thought of 'rice' as ALL Japanese cars. I think of 'rice' as Japanese cars that stupid people make LOOK like the cars you see in movies like Fast and the Furious, do nothing to make the car faster or to give it better handling, and then think that just because their car LOOKS like a fast car it is the fastest thing on the road. In my opinion THAT is a 'Ricer', and I have no repect for 'Ricers' or thier 'Rice Burners'.

As a side note, I also hate people that put a wing, body kit, decals or a big exhast on an American or Europian car and think thier car is hot stuff even though they have done nothing to make it faster, or handle better. And yes, I do call these cars 'Ameri-Rice' or 'Euro-Rice'. Because thats what they are.

So in conlusion, 'Rice' does not equal all Japanese cars. 'Rice' eqauls ANY car that has a stupid owner that thinks a Wing and an Exhast Tip make their car the best on the road.

"Rice".
I believe that it's more about attitude than it is about the actual cars and modifications.
I was looking at a 1993 (Yes 10 years ago) Issue of an automotive publication and people were puttin' on 17-inch wheels, lowering the vehicles into the weeds, adding Huge exhausts, and I saw more than one huge wing.

Guess what publication I was looking at?

You won't believe it.

You will be seriously suprized:eek:

Are you ready for it?

It was Sport Truck.

So, I guess the whole thing started with Boyd Coddington and a Full Size Chevy truck.
I love the irony of it all.
The only difference as far as I can see, is that most Sport Trucker's weren't revving on guys in mini-vans, and doing the "Tokyo Extreme Racer" light flashy thing with people on the freeway. Nor were they acting just downright stupid on the street.

I have to say one last thing. I believe that just as "Easy Rider" gave everyone the wrong idea of what bikers were about. (But they became like the movie, cuz they were otherwise clueless), TF & TF, Has changed the face of modding up cars, and showing them off on the streets. Cars of all makes and models, not just the Japanese cars. Probably a change for the worse IMHO, for the sames reasons as bikers in the '70's.

first off...wtf is monkey d? secondly...you guys bombed the living **** out of this little kid:lol: watch him one the 5 o clock news as he jumps off a bridge. Although 90% of his comments were retarted. But yeah i totally agree witht he euro-rice and ameri-rice guy. Thats the queerest thing ive ever seen. I have, however, seen a couple street bmw's that the owners use ont he track which have wings and AERO kits. Like real aero kits that make the car...oh how should i say this...MORE AERODYNAMIC. They use the wing for downfore, however the majority of their money has been put into whats not visible ont he car, like the suspension, engine internals, and a bunch of other GOOD crap. On the contrary, i have seen many ricers driving their parents everyday Beemers with a 5" exhaust and a decals reading things in the general direction of Yamamama or something. I for one am never going to modify the exterior of my camaro unless its something beneficial like a high flow hood w/ scoop to provide more air for my engine. I just find the idea of putting junk onto your car that doesnt do **** for performance is messed up.

Thank you and Right On! I have nothing against aero kits on cars that acctually have the engine to use them.
