Right foot gas & braking at the same time?

I've seen anime and people use the sole part (bottom part of the foot) to hit the gas and use the upper part for the brakes. I usually see this in drifting in initial d and one of those japanese drift videos. My question is, what does it do exactly? Does it over steer the car more when entering the corner? And can you use it on the DFP? Thanks (kind of new to the forum)

its called heel toe....in order to keep revs up while downshiftin....dun need to do it since there is no clutch....although....u can try =0)

Keep rev's up yeah. But more importantly to match the speed of your drive gear to the crank = smoother shifting, smoother power delivery. It serves no use in Gran Turismo, the game is programed to do it for you.

lol yeah do it with the DFP and i wonder how long before it breaks....

I heel/toe my car when i am starting to do a burnout at the dragstrip, Its the only part that sucks about not havin an automatic trans.(i could just go get a line lock i suppose)

ohh, so it helps make your car go at a constant speed in the corner? correct me if im wrong (more likely), lets say you shifted to gear two, used the heal toe thing, then the rev goes up maxing the speed in gear two? erg, im kinda lost on the rev part.

the game "healtoe's automaticly. THere's no need for pressing gas while you shift down unless you are left foot breaking.

Driving a Ruf on Standard tires will make you think twice about not pressing the gas while turning..lol...

Ok I'm going...its good..its good....WHAM! Assfirst into the armco at Wehrseifen.

i like powersliding the ruff. so pressing the gass while turning is one of my 1st thoughts :)

well, i guess if your running at 10000 rpms in 5th gear and you need to slow down to 3rd gear, you won't click R2 twice without slowing down. the concept of matching gears in there but theres no need to stab the gas b/c theres no clutch. hopefully an option (clutch) in the next gt

yea... I always woundered what it would be like if a game had a clutch... you absolutely need a steeringwheel with clutch, gas, and brake...

My bro has played a game called ferrari  somthin' challenge?? at an arcade and it had a clutch pedal... I remember cause I couldn't use it back then, cause I didn't know how to use stick :dunce:

I do it so I look cool.

Not really, but yeah, as it's been said, the game does it automatically, because there is no clutch on either the controller or the DFP. And by the way, why would you do it during a burnout on a dragstrip, you might aswell hold the clutch after a few seconds in first gear and blow your engine. It's used for downshifting (thus deceleration, but not in all cases), so it's useful for corners so you can stay in the powerband [=more tourque].

Word.

vinsin, its used during a burnout so you can hold the brake, and use the clutch/gas to get the wheels spinning, then you just slide your feet over.
