I amazed no one mention this yet, but here goes....
Rigs to rods, or RoR, is a very realistic physics sandbox that supports.....well, anything that goes on land, air, or water. That ususally means cars, planes, and boats, but you can build a lot of other things as well. Everything is made through simple meshes, and all the the vehicle specs are coded into the game, which reads them arnd applies them in real time, allowing for really realistic physics. This also applies to the real-time damage, which allows for some pretty crazy deformation.
And, well, it's a game about.......pretty much nothing, in fact. Just go explore, do some races, or hit up multiplayer.
Oh, and it's free.
More can be found on the wiki.
It seems a little wierd at first, but it's actually a prety fun game.
NOTE:RoR acts a little weird sometimes on Vista. Just right click on it and choose, "run as administrator."
