Renault has teamed up with surf clothing company Rip Curl for a special edition Clio.

The Clio Rip Curl, aimed at younger buyers, comes with the 1.2 16v (75bhp) petrol and 1.5 dCi (68bhp) diesel engines, and costs from £9,595 (1.2 16v three-door); it's classed in insurance group 2E, and the 62.8mpg diesel emits just 120g/km of carbon dioxide, giving low tax in Band B. Three- and five-door versions are offered.

The Clio Rip Curl comes in unique Ice Blue paint (though there are seven other shades to choose from) with a CD/MP3/iPod-compatible stereo, special graphics, Rip Curl-tagged red/grey upholstery, red dashboard trim, chrome-effect trim details, leather steering wheel, rubber floor mats, electric/heated door mirrors, electric front windows, side airbags and 15-inch alloy wheels. Options include the City Pack Plus (auto lights and wipers, parking sensors and sat nav, £1,200).

Sweet!

If I could afford one, I would buy one.

I would've never seen this coming. Maybe a wagon, considering thats more fitting to surfing. Pretty neat though.

...Where have I seen this before...

Holy crap! The Roxy Echo is back from the dead! Run for the hills!

...I dunno. I like the Renault, it will probably sell well with young girls. A cheap car that looks good and is fun to drive is certainly a plus, and unfortunately we do without them here in America...

Hmm. Looks interesting. Is there any performance difference between this and the regular Clio? It looks like the engines are already offered on the non-rip-curl version.

Red trimmings will probably be a bit interesting on an ice-blue car.
