RIP Johnny Dumfries

Johnny Dumfries aka John Crichton-Stuart, the 7th Marquess of Bute, has died aged 62.

I'll confess I knew virtually nothing about him until he appeared on Beyond the Grid:

He hosted a motorsport show at Mount Stuart, his ancestral home, on the Island of Bute back in 2002. There was a static display of cars and a live rally stage too. It was a successful event but was short lived due to the complexities of getting everyone over, and back, on the ferry. My dad and I parked on the mainland and went over as foot passengers, which turned out to be a great idea as the queues for cars was huge.
