Rise of Nations: Anyone here play this?

Just wondering if any GTP'ers are playing this game.

I've been playing on and off since its release and have finally gotten to an intermediate level of play. Finally starting to win more than I lose, but that's only because I stay out of adv/expert games.

If anyone is interested in a friendly skirmish, PM me.

I'll have to find my install disk, but if I find it, I'll play you. It was a great game 👍
 
I'm a big fan of the Civ series, and am generally keen to try these games, even after the trauma of Call to Power - I'm currently building up to buying Age of Empires II.

How does Rise of Nations compare to the Civ series - it was pretty big there when it came out but it seems to have vanished from the shelves.
 
Civ series are quite different from Rise of nations and Age of empires.

If you like to go slow, think about strategy, stick with Civ.

If you like fast paces action, Rise of nation is a good game.
 
i have it....i just dont play it much anymore.

its a fun game though. im just busy with other games now.
 
I haven't played since I re-formatted my PC. Maybe I'll re-install it soon and get a few online games under my belt again.
 
I just bought this last night and played for about an hour. So far it looks like a mix between Red Alert 2, Yuris revenge, and Age of Empires 3. Definetly a great game so far. The pace is close to Red Alert 2. 👍
 
Have also played it quite alot, would really want to have an online skirmish ... but here in S.A. (not San Andreas !) our bandwidth is :crazy: , it gets a bit boring to play against the pc all the time ... have played against a few guys on a LAN game, was really cool ... especially when you get to the "instant creation" research upgrade ... and nukes rule haha

This game is sort of a cross between Civilization and Age I would think ...
