Rival mode (noob Q)

I am having a hard time understanding how the Rival mode works. Can you collect $ via leaderboards? Leaderboards>>Circuit>>>Class>>>Track>>>then I select "Near me" and launch a race against someone faster....and win. No Bounty? Also somewhere in all this I have seen 500ish hours xx minutes xxx seconds by my gamertag. What does the 500 hrs represent? Is it all the time in all the Forzas? 1-4 Thank you
 
No Rivals is only specific stuff, when you go to 'go race' in the in game menu it has

WORLD TOUR
EVENTS LIST
RIVALS MODE

some rivals event's can be completed in cars you own, some are pre chosen

the time beside your name is how long its taken you to hotlap all the tracks the lower number the better in other words
 
If you win and don't receive the payout, you have most likely ran a uncertified lap.

Look for the little (you ran off track) emblem beside your laptime.

When you have a certified lap, and beat your rival, the game will pause at the start/finish line to congratulate you.
Then you will get the payout.

This certified lap business is much to do about nothing, unfortunately.
 
Still lost...sorry. Ok, once I select leaderboards..under Rivals, there are times for every track and every car class raced on that track. Can I earn $ by selecting a person narrowed down in that fashion and beating that time? What is the 500 some odd hrs listed? Sorry...so hard to explain. I will just keep tryn to figure it out. I have collected bountys by racing the rival that pops up.....but that's not what I mean.:boggled:
 
You're looking at the wrong leaderboards, I think... When you go into the Rivals event hit Y to change your rival then keep hitting X until you get to the page marked Near Me. Then select the next fastest time above yours for an easier win.

So you don't win anything if unless you beat the best time set? thats a difficult way to earn?

You get credits for how much you drive as well.

You also only have to beat the time of your rival, which is always the closest person to you on the leaderboard(or a dirty lap if you haven't set one yet).

Oh I have but I only befriend people that I feel are faster racers the only people on my list are all top 10000-5000

You can select your rival be pressing Y, than just press X until you get to the "Near Me" leaderboard, it will give you people that have about the same time as your best at that point.👍

Every spot above you has a bounty on it, it's usually around 10-25K but can go higher or lower. If you beat there time you win the bounty plus whatever you however much for how many laps you did before beating their time.

i do I just never tried it and made the posts when I was away from the box. To me it just seems to be the same kind of income compared to anything else then?
