Announcement of RLR’s Touring Car Championship on Gran Turismo 5.

If you’re interested in some enjoyable divisional league racing. Then check out where the race setting are set to make things as even as possible between racers. So it’s just down to the racing and not down to who’s in the fastest car or who can keep their tyres better. So check out www.redlineracingseries.com and register your interest. Once I have enough guys interested the season will begin. Below is a brief outline for the proposed championship.

Championship Settings

Vehicle Tuning – Prohibited
Tyre/Fuel Depletion – OFF (No Tyre Wear)
Tyre restrictions – No Limit but during feature race there will be a pit window when “Racing Medium Tyres” must be used you MUST complete at least 1 lap on medium tyres. For example 30 lap race the pit window would be between laps 10 & 20. You may pit as many times as you like outside the pit window but MUST stop during pit window.
Laps – Sprint Race 15 Minutes / Feature Race 45 Minutes
Grid Order – Sprint Race Fastest First / Feature Race Reverse Grid
Start Type – Grid Start with False Start Check
Boost – No
Penalty – weak
Race Finish Delay – 180 seconds
Grip Reduction on Wet Track/Track Edge – Real
Mechanical Damage – Light
Skid Recovery Force – Banned
Active Steering – Banned
Driving Line – Allowed
TCS - Allowed

To be able to take part in this championship you will need to own the “Racing Car Pack” as all cars used in this championship will be all the Touring Cars from this pack. You will also need to own the “SPA-Francorchamps Course Pack” & “Twin Ring Motegi Track Pack” as we will be using these tracks for this championship.

We have decided to use these touring cars as you can paint them any colour you like and put you own individual number on them

We have decided not to go with the normal qualifying system which most of you are familiar with. Instead we are going to do a divisional system which is outlined below.

There will be only 7 racers per division
Division 1 & 2 will race in “Race Room 1” and Divisions 3 & 4 will race in “Race Room 2” (14 racers per room)

The top 3 finishers at end of season will be promoted to the division above and the lowest 3 finishers will be demoted to the division below. With this in mind the seasons will be shorter than most of you are used to.

Points awarded - 1st - 10 points, 2nd - 6 points, 3rd - 4 points, 4th - 3 points, 5th - 2 points, 6th - 1 point, 7th - 0 points. These points are awarded to each division. If there are 3 divisions then 3 racers will score 10 points and so on.
