RM Glitch??

I can't stage 2 or 3 my TVR engine, because I did the RM when it was stage 1'd and it says I have to install in a certain order? Wtf? I have stage 1... I can't even readd stage 1 or anything, this is pretty lame I must say... Now the car is always going to be sub par, unless I remove it from my garage, wasting around 500k...
 
Yeah, went onto the settings menu, installed, said i hadn't got one installed come purchasing 2 and 3; when it clearly is, it even boosted the BHP when reinstalling >_>
 
When you race mod a car it installs most of the upgrades to your, I think included all engine upgrades.
 
You can still purchase the stages, it adds suspension, transmission, diff's, hard race tyres, reduces weight; so you still have the engine bits to get :c
 
that's strange, when I RM my ZR1, i did it right after I bought it, then I think I install further engine mods...
 
I've ran into that same problem too. I think if you purchase the stage 1 engine tune before you RM you can't purchase anything other engine tunes because it messes up the system some how. Happened with my civic. I've since race modded other cars before tuning them and then I was able to buy all the engine tune up stages. I think its a glitch
 
Can you not go into the "items" option next to garage and re add the stage 1?
 
i maxed out my zr1 before the RM and it went from high 800's to low 700's and couldnt bring it back up. took a stock zr1 and rm'ed it first, then engine mods and such and the hp was back to upper 800's.

Same thing happened to me but all my tuned parts were just uninstalled. Went into the settings menu before a race and they were there just not installed.

Yeah tried it and it adds it to the car, gives the HP boost, but then it doesn't recognize it in the tuning shop, or if I buy, then try to install in the items list.

Exactly... its a glitch. If you plan on RM'ing a car do NOT do any upgrades for it prior or else you can't do the engine tunes
 
Check if the upgrade is there but not installed - it'll be in the Items menu under GT Life if that's the case.
 
Stage 3 engine or turbo? Mine is stage 3 engine.

You can't upgrade the turbo because, well, there us no turbo to begin with! Simples!!
 
By the way, you can't add turbo upgrades in the road version either.
 
I had this, but you can reinstall engine tuning. You have to move the cursor onto the image of the upgrade and press X, it's the only time you have to do that so it doesn't really make sense, but it does work. You have to add Stage 1 then the others, that should fix it.

Edit: Never mind, I just read the thread properly. I haven't encountered this myself, and I RM'd a Stage 1 engine tuned Speed 6 also. I had to reinstall the Stage 1 engine mod but after I figured out how (as it wasn't obvious), it was ok.
 
In the car settings screen, go to engine, then highlight the Stage 1 engine tuning. You can install it there.

Nothing can be raced in those races because Rm'ing a vehicle changes the cars name.
 
I guess copy of GT5 doesn't like me because I couldn't enter the race after my TVR was RM'd

It can't. I already had a RM'd TVR so I tried to enter it, it didn't let me, so I had to buy another.
 
Doesnt anyone else think its pretty stupid that you loose all you bought when performing a RM?
It woould be more fair if all the uninstalled parts would go to the item list so you can use them on other cars
 
Its a good thing it was brought to our attention.
Normally I buy a new car, change the oil for the extra HP gain, RM it and then add mods if I think it needs them.

Thought I'd done it, hadn't. Age, brain, etc...

I was already in the car having just set it up in Practice but then had to go out so never got as far as clicking on that event - it's the only one I haven't done of the #5 events. D'oh :D

Although, if you click the garage button which shows up when you try to enter a race with an excluded car, the RM version shows up as if it is allowed in the race, which I thought was rather odd.

Do you know... I've been thinking about this. I'm still SURE that I got two laps into the race... SURE of it. Still, I'm feeling the effects of age (and drink, and partying, and other stuff...) on my brain nowadays.

I wonder if the RM has been removed from the 'allowed' list? I did the events as soon as they appeared on my PS3, so it was pretty early. Hmmm....
