I'm just curious about why the system is set up this way. I took one of my race mod'd Cameros into the Arcade Mode. It didn't take long to realize that my vehicle was seriously struggling to keep up with the AI (even though the AI selection looked reasonable).

Mind you I'm in a race mod'd vehicle. I finished the race and went to see what tires the AI was using. All of the AI were using Racing Soft tires. I figured that makes sense.., and I'm of course using a RM'd Camero. I go look to see what tires I was on.., and to my surprise my vehicle is running on Sport Hard tires.

I thought this can't be right.., so i go into the vehicle tuning section to see that yes my car is running on Sport Hard. Why on earth if I spent all that money/credits to RACE MODIFY a vehicle such as the Camero.., am I then given standard sport street tires? If you race modify a vehicle why don't you get Racing Tires in the modification?

It doesn't make any sense IMO. It's bad enough that after nearly a year PD still hasn't sorted out the unbalanced tire allocation issue with the AI.., but going into a race using a RM'd vehicle to find you're running on Street Tires doesn't seem right. Why wouldn't you get Race Tires on a RM'd vehicle?

I think you are not given racing tyres when you RM a car, it has the tyres it originally had. it does seem odd to not give you racing tyres, not even racing hard

That's what I thought. I don't understand why you're not at the very least given Racing Hard tires after performing a Race Mod. How in the hell is a RM'd car running on Sport Hards supposed to keep up with the lot running on Racing Soft.

They never give you good tyres...unless you buy a bloody F2007

It's Camaro, not Camero.

Why are some people so damn anal about grammar on this forum? Sure are a lot of "self appointed" Grammer Police here. If a word is mispelled, or any other grammatical error is present, so the hell what. If the poster is able to get the general idea across, just leave it at that, and move on.

If it's complete gibberish, and the question is completely lost in translation, then it would make sense for further clarification, but pointless IMO to post about very basic mistakes in grammar and spelling.

Just because a car is a race car doesn't mean it needs to run on slicks all of the time. There are actually a few slower race cars you can buy used that don't come with slicks. Some of them don't even have all of their other performance upgrades bought either.

Unfortunately, race-modding a car seems to force you to buy all of the power and other upgrades, except turbos and reinforcement, which limits the types of race cars you can build, since you can't even take parts off of them. But there's no reason it should force you to buy tires too, and you can in fact put comfort hards on your ZR1 RM, or even your 908(I think), if you really want to. If the game made you buy Racing Hards - which most cars come on - when you did the modification that wouldn't help you if you wanted Racing Softs anyway.

So the tire thing isn't really a problem with the game, just something you need to be aware of when RM'ing a car. A problem would be, say, just for a random example, not allowing you to put dirt tires on lots of your cars.

I've yet to buy any car anywhere that came with racing soft or even racing medium tires...My Ferrari F2007,for example, came equiped with racing hard tires.

In the situation I ran into though, you're forced to upgrade. There's no point in trying to enter a race with sport hard tires, and the AI are all using racing soft.

I think that at the very least, racing hard should come with a full race mod. They should either do that or fix the problem with improper AI tire selection.

That's not a grammar issue, it's a spelling issue. Speaking of spelling issues, you spelled grammar wrong in your second usage.

As far as the answer to your question: Poor spelling and grammar make posters look stupid and it pisses me (us) off.

You are not forced to upgrade anything, ever. You decided to enter a race in Arcade mode, with a car you had chosen to upgrade earlier. There was no connection between the two. It may be that the game is incorrect for not noticing the specs of your car and matching it, but that in no way forced you to upgrade your tires. You just unfortunately entered a race with a car that the game thought should have had Racing Softs, but you hadn't purchased them for yours yet.

I'd just as soon choose what tires I want, rather than have them forced on me. I'd prefer to have as little as possible forced on me, in fact. Of course, I generally want Racing Hard tires on my RM'ed cars, but I'll buy them myself. It takes approximately 30 seconds, 20 of which is loading.

I was wondering if you'd bite on that one. Just proves my point. If you're using simple mistakes in "grammar" and "spelling" to judge the intelligence of another person, then you clearly don't have a clue.

I've seen some of the "so called grammar and spelling police" make their own mistakes. I can't count the number of times I've seen a few of them use "your" when "you're" is the correct word choice.

Some of you are way too uptight, and should't be hijacking a thread just to try and make yourself look smarter. I make plenty of mistakes, and a lot are to do with me using my iPod for posting. Some of the most brilliant minds in history were bad at math, and even poor at spelling, but they weren't considered dumb, stupid, or unintelligent because of it.

Speaking of hi-jacking a thread, have you ever noticed how some people will turn a simple 4-word comment into a 6-post multifaceted argument?

Then stop hijacking threads pointing out spelling and mistakes in grammar. Drop the "mightier than thou" attitude towards the issue and move on.

Have you taken into consideration the number of individuals here that don't speak English very well because it's not their native language? Again.., I say you and a few others are too uptight on this issue, and are completely ignorant to other factors that my contribute to those mistakes.

Yeah it is weird they don't give you the racing tires, and on a side note, I believe in the AUP you agreed to use proper spelling and grammar. Just because this is the internet doesn't mean you shouldn't put some effort into what you're typing.

I'll just leave the issue with a quote. "Those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". Some of those same individuals who constantly hound others for such trivial mistakes are also violating that same policy.

The word Camaro is the same in every language. The OP is from USA anyway so that point would be moot regardless.

I still say the hijacking is pointless unless the post is so badly written that it's hard to decipher. However, on such trivial things like missing the spelling of a word by ONE freakin letter is utter nonsense IMO. I imagine a lot of good questions don't get posted because they fear the Grammar and Spelling Police.

I put effort into my posts, but I make more mistakes when posting with my iPod (for obvious reasons). We can't all be walking around with a PC, Mac, or laptop strapped to our necks, and I would bet money that a lot of people here use their iPhone or iPod when they can't get to their computer. It in fact takes "a lot of effort" posting with these devices.

That is not entirely correct. First of all, you have to know that for all road cars you buy from all the dealerships you receive a tyre set between Comfort Medium and Sports Hard. The ONLY factor that determines which tyre type you get is the Power/Weight Ratio.

And this rule is equally still in effect when you RM a car. Probably this is done, because you essentially get a new car, and this car is still inherently a production car. So, because the power/weight ratio will change through the RM-process, you MIGHT get a different set of tyres additionally, but only if the power/weight ratio changes into another bracket, and this set of tyres will still be Sports Hard as the softest compound.

Crikey! It's an internet troll! These creatures are known to leave snide remarks, and super anal grammar corrections in unwanted places. They're some viscous little buggers! Let's have a closer look.

Anyways, on to the OP. Think about it this way, if you build a car up for racing here in reality, do you magically get racing tires to boot? I semi-agree that you should get them when you race mod a car, but the extra bit for the better tires isn't a huge deal when payouts on some races are 500,000 plus.

All you had to do was humbly accept the fact that you've mistakenly spelled Camaro. It's one thing if what you've misspelt was Hyundai Equos (actually spelled Equus)- nobody gives a **** but something like Camaro or Miura are too significant to not want to learn how to spell them correctly.

Back to the OP- was it Level A (Pro) Arcade race? Because as far I know that AI cars don't use Racing Soft since that tire doesn't come stock with any of the cars in GT5. I think you mean Racing Hard. Still, all you had to do was go in settings in the race menu and just buy yourself the same tires the AI are using. It's worth complaining before when you had to go back to GT Life just to buy the right tires but now, it's super easy.

Lol, need some proof on that AUP violation. Plus your analogy isn't correct for this situation.

Err...ok then. You're American no? You live in the country that invented the Camaro so why can't you spell it correctly without thinking?

Cool story bro. I post from my mobile phone (no it's just a crappy old phone with actual keys) and I make an effort to spell correctly and even put the effort in to double check what I've posted. Doesn't take all that much effort to post with a mobile device to be quite honest with you unless you have a physical condition preventing proper use of your hands...

Enough of that nonsense anyway. I do believe that RM'd cars should get at the minimum racing hard tyres when you go through the modification process, just doesn't seem right to RM a Z06 or ZR1 and still have sport tyres....it's a damn GT racer!
