Roadrunner & Coyote

I was having a debate with some friends today on whether the Coyote ever caught the Roadrunner. I heard there was an episode where the Roadrunner was caught, and the Coyote said "Tag, you're it". But that doesnt make sense. Does anyone know?

There is never an occasion where the Coyote (Wile E. Coyote) catches the Roadrunner - with one exception that doesn't really count, as Wile E. Coyote is miniaturised, so not really able to eat the Roadrunner (he holds up a sign saying "All right, wise guys, you always wanted me to catch him - now what do I do?")

Coyote never, ever speaks to Roadrunner - only to the audience.

I thought the whole "tag" thing was a bit strange, seeing as how the coyote always had a fork, or cookbook. Thanks for the info, I actually think I remember seeing that episode.

As a kid, I always waited for that one glorious episode when the Coyote actually catches the Road Runner.

Some Super Genius I am, thinking that would ever happen.

Didn't the coyote often hold up a sign, with an arrow pointing at his head, that said "super genius" after he did something stupid? Like that whole catapult fiasco.

Want to talk cartoons? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY did cartoons better than Tex Avery. Look at the two below. They're Tex's versions of two classic tales. "Red Hot Riding Hood" and "The Big Bad Wolf." I love the foreward in "The Big Bad Wolf."

Red Hot Riding Hood

"Grandma! Control yourself!" 👍

Big Bad Wolf

"Doolittle dood it!" 👍

Tex is the fella who did those "Car of Tomorrow" and "House of Tomorrow" cartoons. He was the best.

Maaan, that wolf gets a bad wrap! I remember seeing a cartoon about the wolf defending himself against all the nursery rhymes and cartoons that say he is bad. He's a good fella really!

I always wondered how the coyote could fall so far when until the fall, the scene was always fairly flat.

But I always laughed when the puff of dust came up.

I don't think the coyote ever spoke in a roadrunner cartoon, but he was in some cartoons with Bugs Bunny and spoke in those. Also, the Ralph character was pretty much the same character, I think a different color.

What about Chuck Jones? Every time I see his name in the pre-toon credits on an old toon, I put the remote away and actually sit down to watch...

I think I remember the miniaturized episode, but I've never seen or heard of the "Tag, you're it" Episode. Urban Legend?
