It's that time of the year when the UKs premier historic rally is run. Starting tomorrow and taking in North Yorkshire, Northumberland (Killer Kielder for older rally fans) and South West Scotland over 4 days it is an epic rally harking back to the late 70s in honour of the great man.

I'll be chasing the rally on Saturday and Sunday (we plan on sleeping in the car in Scotland :nervous:) and acting as marshals on one of the Kielder stages on Monday.

I cannot recommend it enough to anyone in the north of England or southern Scotland. As long as you like RWD 70's rally cars (mostly Escorts but some 911s too and a Stratos) you'll have a ball.

I'll be taking pictures on Saturday and Sunday so check my photos thread for them early next week, or now for previous years.

I've got work commitments on Sat & Sun but should be up at Kielder on the monday

Cool, early start for me as we're looking to marshal. Have to be on the stage by 7am.

Back now, had a good time away and saw some quality old cars being driven how they should be.

Unfortunately a car went off at the Olivers Mount spectator stage on Saturday and 3 spectators were injured. The car did not hit them directly but hit a fence and parts of that then hit the spectators. Although no one was seriously injured one did suffer a multiple break. Luckily the car hit a tree which stopped it traveling further.

Clocked up 450+ miles in 2 days chasing the rally around on some excellent country roads but sleeping in the car in Scotland in November is coooooooooooold!

Got some half decent pictures but was marshaling today in Kielder forest in the bleakest weather ever so didn't get that many. Check out my pictures thread in my sig to see them.
