I love rolling drags on gt5 online at SSR7 3 honks then WOT. Rolling drags in my opinion are very suspensful especially if your opponents have a good tune putting HP/TQ to the ground is great, 1 second you could be pulling next second you are getting pulled on and so on and so forth.Anyone one else agree? If you dont agree do not comment or ill kick you lol.

I'm sure that they are exhilarating. But you might need to improve your wording to contain actual words.

Edit: Problem solved. This line removed.

You'll never see this happening if the other guy has at least a half decent tune.

Oh and idgaf about your last sentence.

Actually his abbreviations are car related terms which were very understandable. Maybe you should improve your car vocabulary and you'd understand them mate.

I disagree Dr.Slump I have seen it with decent tunes on lower HP cars (380HP-500HP).Isn't your preference 3k drag at SSRX? Dr.Slump and there is no reason to be rude,I understand you have all these great threads on drag and everything and your an asset to the Gtplanet community but dont get cocky it is a GAME after all sir lol.

Yeah, with cars like Nissan GTR, Option Stream, etc when they're running very different tunes, otherwise not.

Awall?

Unfortunately I have mixed opinions on this.. Yes rolling drags are fun, but... They aren't competitive, they are for failed 1/4 mile / 3k racers who can't tree or make a car launch.. Yes I will "screw around" and roll race with you to have fun, but unlike drag racing I will not take it serious at all

I'm Not here to bash you, but where's the fun in 1/4 mile? I'm not a tuner or a pro gamer, but i, myself do know that 1/4 mile races is nothing but reaction and saucy online players, sorry! On ss7 I noticed in the tunnel, up hill is all tune, from a roll its all tune, on and off the line I could pull on a 1/4 mile tune.

It's all about the tune for the most part....that and a tree. Don't perfect either? Don't win any races.

No arguments sir, but I myself noticed in front wheel driven cars, reaction+weight+gear ratios= win or a some what A close run, I can tree, and also get treed and when that situation happens I have to make up with a pull somewhere

For me its all about who makes it to the finish first from a dead stop. I could care less about pulling past someone later.

lol, it is your tune that talks in a 1/4 mile. ask acj from TDS, we rad chevelles yesterday, even tree, his launched off the line on me by half a car, but from there i pulled back to win by a half a car i think it was. soooo.... yeah it is about the tune.

You are right mazdaman. His post is now edited and contains words, not text speech.

As for my car vocabulary, you do not know who I am or what I know. I didn't learn my car talk from Gran Turismo games or GTPlanet. I didn't learn my car vocabulary from a computer, tv or a magazine.

So when you pop into a thread, find a post and you do not understand why it seems out of place, maybe it is you that is missing the point.

Im a 3k/tunnel drag person myself. No, rolling drag is not for failed 1/4 dragsters actually 1/4 is fairly simple to tune for in my opinion. Now tuning for 3k and tunnel is a whole different thing you have to balance short gears for launch and initial acceleration with long gears to propel you up top. Also i know people that tune specifically for rolls and their tunes are also decent for tunnel drags

Could it be as simple as both require a certain skill set to tune. 1/4 mile you need to launch and maximize acceleration. Rolling drag you need to maximize acceleration with an eye on top speed.

Both require a knowledge and dedication for the task at hand.

This, and does anyone ever play Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero ? Those were the good ol' days of rolling drag + top speed races, that game even has proper 1/4 mile test ( which is quite important to tune for rolling drag ) I wished GT5 simulate engine heat build up and oil pressure as well overboost function, Extreme Zero were much harder to win, I still have the old save with almost all cars ( wanderers ) beaten :D

That game was so awesome, ahh PS2 memories 👍

Seriously though, i remember intentionally destroying a controller because of that game, so frustrating sometimes...

When it comes to 3K and 1/4 mile tunes all I'm saying is that 30 mph rolling start is only eliminating the first second of a 1/4 or 3K race, and it's a very crucial second in 1/4 whether in game or in real life 1/4..

I'm Not here to bash you, but where's the fun in 1/4 mile?

Like I said rolling starts are fun but 1/4 mile is COMPETITIVE.. Hey I love hanging out in a Roll Start room and having fun, but a lot of the 1/4 and 3K pros on here won't take something like that seriously, there's too much differentiation in your actual launch time by one person just blowing a horn.. Even considerably crucial in 3K ESPECIALLY when it comes to the pros that tune for 3K..

An interesting rolling drag would be to start from within the moment of entering the tunnel side by side and finish at next tunnel entrance ( half lap ), whoever is in the front then, is the winner :D If only we can have battle mode like in Extreme Zero :O so much fun and competitive it would be.

Thats usually how we do rolls, the problem with going off a horn is sometimes you don't hear all 3 beeps we also do rolls on every 10 of the timer, the latter seems to work pretty good.

Yes Tokyo Extreme Racer I actually discovered on Sega Dreamcast great game(learning curve).GT5 could learn a lot from that game series. Like I said though I tune for tunnel and 3K. Im pretty good now after 2 years of tuning for those I consider my self a semi pro lol, I do rolling drags on the side for kicks which is fun. Usually in these rooms we end up going from a dig anyway eventually. What I think Sourpatch was saying is he doesn't see the point in 1/4 drag because he tunes for full tunnel digs also. We are not saying rolls can take the place of dig drags in tunnel/3k on GT5 it is just a fun alternate way to drag race. I look at rolling drags on GT5 like catching a seemingly quick car on the freeway at 2:00 in the morning and doing a 3 honk start if they so choose because you are already rolling. Ive had the chance to do this from time to time in real life (don't judge) lol. Also i find that rolling drags allow me to experiment with brake boosting/torque boosting on some turbocharged/supercharged vehicles.
