hell, I have never seen so much bull**** gathered in one place. incredible. both radiohead guitarrists made it to the guitar list. the two of them combined wouldnt still be enough to get into the ****ING list. KURT COBAIN??? OMFFFFG. Frusciante? please. the edge?? DONT TELL MEE!! and then we have david gylmoure of pink floyd. in place 82. and then, we look for some names. no satriani, no vai, no eric johnson, no malmsteen... WTF???? Eddie Van Halen at 70??? this is incredibly ridiculous. INCREDIBLY.

Oh my GOD. I can't believe Duane Allman got #2. I hate.. no I LOATHE the Allman Brothers!

And Keith Richards got better (a lot better) than Carlos Santana!!!!!! 🤬  🤬

I think number 87 sums up the list pretty well

And where the H3ll is Gary Moore at

realistically, these polls are not about who is the best 100 guitarists....its more like, who are your favourite 100 guitarists....

people only vote for people they like or at least give thier favourites a higher rank than others....

the truth would probably be Scarlatti (classical guitar composer) John Williams or some Jazz guitarists, spiced up with someone like Yngwie Malmsteen or Marty Freidman....

on a question of skill there would be no pop rock guitarists there at all...

the guitar is the most widely played instrument in the world....i am sure there are plenty better than the Stones..

Agreed! Only a cast of favorites here. Else SRV would have been between BB and Eric. Plus the glaring omissions if this was based on talent....
No Duane Eddy?
No Scotty Moore?

yeah...and apparently Ike Turner is a better exponent and technically more gifted on the guitar than Stevie Vai who doesnt appear on the list!

Because Rolling Stone sucks.

Why isn't Justin Timberlake in there? His guitarwork on his new album is spectacular.

Rolling Stone, what is wrong with you?

Satch is on the list either. (Joe Satriani)
neither is Susan Tedeschi,
nor is the blind guitarist from "Road House" For the life of me I can't remember his name.
I could go on. But I'm too distraught.

Do you mean Jeff Healy? He had a big hit titled Can You See The Light? back in 1989, I think.

This list is pathetic. No Joe Pass, Andre Segovia (sp), Billy Gibbons or Richie Blackmore? To hell with Rolling ****! And Edward needs to be in the top ten, no matter how you feel about him!

This reminds me of a '100 Greatest Guitar solos' article that I read a couple of years ago. It might have been in Rolling Stone magazine, but I think it was in a guitar magazine. They had "Smells like Teen Spirit" at number 14 or something...which had me laughing my ass off.

As much as I loved Nirvana, there's no way Kurt Cobain should even be on that list.

Yes Jeff Healy is the dude I mean.
Plus Doyle Dykes isn't on there
Monte Montgomery isn't on there Dykes and Montgomery are the best obcure Guitarists out there.
What about Kenny Wayne Sheppard? That boy is channeling SRV, and he ain't on there.
Johnny Lang, he's channeling all three Kings (Freddy, Albert, and B.B.) and he ain't on there either.
And if Steve Ray Vaughn is on the list, covering dead guitar players, where is Michael Hedges?

No John Petrucci (Dreamtheater) or Ace Frehley (KISS) either
See my name for what this so called "Best 100" is :irked:

EDIT: Im suprised J-Lo didnt make the list...

I can't figure out how they rated them. Certainly not by talent, but not even by record sales or the legnth of a career! RETARDS!

Don't hate on Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Try playing his solos, maybe after 5 years of practice you'll be able to.

Although I love Nirvana I also agree Kurt Cobain belongs no where on that list. Nirvana music is easy to play.

I think a list like that should be judged on skill with the strings, not how catchy their music was.

Agreed about Kirk Hammet. He's quite talented.

Monty Montgomery is definitely one of the most talented.
I'd include Ian Moore as well.

Petrucci from Dream Theater should be there.

but comeon

JUNIOR BROWN!!!

Jack White should be lower. And Kurt Cobain. But maybe this list was based on favourites not skill.
