Track = Apricot Hill II
You must use the same car you used in Round 1 + 2 👍
Use the SIM VERSION of that car for this Round.
Oil change and Supersoft / T8 tyres are the only upgrades available!
Settings adjustments are allowed 👍
NO HYBRID CARS!

Sector discussion is fine! ... just dont discuss full laps and Total race times! :)

Good luck to all 👍

Thanks to Niels for the thread title suggestion which I made a tiny change to ;)

It'll be more like "Take a thrill @ Apricot hill" if I want not to be last.

 I think you're pretty safe this week, Cyril. My suggestion was: Lack of Skill @ Apricot Hill. Which brings me directly to the subject. Best race till now:

T3: 1'13.264
T3: 1'06.262
T3: 1'06.330

Careful driving with lots of mistakes, so there's a little chance, I might improve marginally during the next couple of days. :)

i did an aewsome 2 lap race then i found out it was 3.

here is my best clean 3 lapper

29.660 / 22.350 / 23.238
59.048 / 51.672 / 52.333
1:12.249 / 1:05.064 / 1:05.383

Raced only 4 laps because I wasn't certain if it was forward or reverse.
Best lap (of 4) had 23.606 / 53.626 / 1'07.267
Lots of improvement expected on one of my favourite tracks in GT3.

..... Lack of Skill @ Apricot Hill .....

I couldn't have said it better. I am glad we're running the track in reverse though, I don't tend to slide off every chance I get.

Maybe I'll get enough miles on my escort to break it in this week. Add a few more horseys and then watchout, 9th place here I come!

Actually, I like running cars I like. I was very close to taking the 206 in this challenge and never considered the focus only because I knew that would be one most people took. It's more fun to me to see a lot of different results posted, just too bad there aren't more entries in this challenge to get a real feel for the different cars and how people do in them.

Anyone else consider a different car before choosing what you're driving now?

Later,
Dak

I tried the Focus, Delta, Corolla and decided that the Evo VII would be the best car for me for this round. I knew I wasn't going to win the two Tarmac races against Mr P and Hugo Boss. I also knew I wasn't going to win at Tahiti Maze II either so I went with the best car for a win at Swiss Alps II. We'll see how it all works out.

Same mentality I had(almost... ;) ). :D I also considered the 206 as it is one of my favorite cars. And I really did not want to run the asphalt races but figured I should support the entire series. :) I am actually enjoying Apricot Hill Reverse though, maybe it is all of that sand. :)

Not really. The Focus seemed to be the obvious choice for the Maze, but I find the Delta (first impulse) easier to control with my limited skills and therefore a more joyful ride, especially in a multilapper at the Maze. :dopey:

The most important thing for me though, was to make an early decision, so I could race the same car in both warm-up races as well as the main event. So after my mentor and chief-mechanic, Old Geezer/Uncle Bob , had approved of the Delta, the decision was taken. 👍

i like the delta and escort but i choose focus because ive never driven it before

t1 1'12.596
t2 1'05.638
t3 1'05.598

Seems that this is the one I'm going to submit.
Great combo Ron.
For sure not the fastest time but I had a lot of fun.

$h!t
I had forgotten that this was a race and not a hotlap. I ran a dozen laps yesterday and thought I was done.
Ok, I know the planning for tonight : Focus at Apricot.

I'm at:

1'12.611
1'05.311
1'05.284

I once again have had great fun too. I've been fighting with Sjaak all week for the lead. 👍 I'll give it a couple of more shots trying to make that "panic run", that can cut another half second overall. Gotta make it before Sjaak does. ;)

After adding some downforce I could run more respectable time than the 1'05.9xx I was running earlier this week, but I didn't got a chance to have 3 clean and fast laps.
Submitted race :
1'13.654 / 1'06.650 / 1'05.822 :grumpy:
See you next week for the final race.

Time submitted.

Made my "panic race" this morning. It was sort of destroyed though by a terrible last lap. Sweaty shaky fingers and a heavily pounding heart through the last 1 minute and xx seconds. Just love it. :D

I managed to get a last minute run in last night also ... here's my T3's

1.10.9
1.03.8
1.04.3

not a winning run but I left it too late and will have to rely on the final round to salvage me, cya's at the results guys 👍

Mr P
I will have to rely on the final round to salvage me 👍

Oh no. Does that mean we'll have to face: Come get your spank beneath Mont Blanc; 27 laps @ Swiss Alps II. :scared:

Mr P have no fear your time will surely outstrip mine.

Mr. P has my time. Well, at least his inbox has my time. Too much fun on this track and wish I had had more laps in, but alas, life gets in the way of GT3.

Looking forward to the closing round and getting out of the Escort.

Later,

Time submitted.

I was enjoying this round but never got back to the race. So I sent in what I had, left a lot of room for improvement just no time to do it. My son is home and it makes it difficult to find time to race but I will try to push everyone harder in the Alps.

Good Luck!:)

Just managed 2 clean runs, before going to the pub :dopey:

Fastest:
1'11.024
1'03.888
1'03.591

Got more time to race next week, and I'm gonna need it :scared:

Ron seems to be away this week end !
No results, no week 4 posted...
:(

I have started hotlapping at the Swiss Alps II, just to pass the time away. Hope he'll get the race up soon. I'll need a lot of sessions. :D

I'll be away the whole week long, and I was expecting to run this week-end.
I only have one evening left (tonight) to submit something :grumpy:

where is Mr.P?

Small_Fryz
where is Mr.P?

I am here ..... I must apologise to everyone as I have been away all weekend and it was unexpected to me but had to go. I was given an opportunity to make some good money and I couldn't turn it down.

I just need to reinstall some programs on my pc and I will post the results for round 3 👍 again I'm very sorry I'm so late but real life situations take priority as they should 👍

Anyway give me an hour and results will be up and race 4 will be posted shortly after that.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding guys .... appreciated 👍
oh btw! race 4 will be run until the following Friday which will give you a few days over the proposed week long race 👍

back soon ...

Good oppurtunity to make some money... You heard of a GT3 tournament? :D

You won't hear me complain, results and race details are always (except for now) posted in time by you, Ron 👍 and I only have to drive and submit! Real life situations always take priority, that's also why I'm neglecting my GT3 activities a bit atm  .

of course its ok Ron, real life situations always take priority, so now you have enough money to make a good cockpit for you GT wheel :p. Looking forward to seeing if im not last

ah Hugo thats why im able to keep up this week then :p

Small_Fryz
ah Hugo thats why im able to keep up this week then :p

I think I would have gone 0.150-0.200 faster overall when I had some more time to spend, but not much more! And as we're running almost the same settings ;), you simply are becoming faster 👍
