Router Performance - Linksys E3000

I've been using this router for a couple years with Forza on an xBox 360 and it's performance has been spotty. Bypassing the router by hooking up my cable modem to my computer I get around 31 mb/sec download and 6 mb/sec upload. Thru the router I still get the 31 mb/sec download but my upload drops to around 1 mb/sec. Is this normal or is my router broken.

What router do you guys recommend? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Anything higher end from Netgear.

We're using a Netgear 834DG router. Haven't had any issues, ever.

Connected clients:

6 PC (wired)
2 Notebook (wireless)
2 PS3 (1x wired, 1x wireless)
1 XBOX360 (wireless)
