A few more of my videos, again taken during a competition that my car club was running - best lap times on a variety of courses, using the RUF Turbo and any/all mods (exc NOS).
Ignore the text - its mostly me trying to annoy the other people taking part in the comp!

What - you mean Traction Control etc? Actually, i had everything turned off except a little bit of "understeer", to help with the turn-in to corners. I found that without it i was understeering too much. As for rear grip, the RUF has masses, so you dont need any TCS...

I tried a steering wheel round at my pals - couldnt get the hang of it... gimme a controller every time!

Nice videos, and cool tunes! 👍 The Monetgi was probably the best of the four, but you really do need to take off the driving aids before you say things like your making it look easy etc.

You were off the racing line on a couple of corners, and there were a couple you could of gone a lot faster through. The last corner at Suzuka was sloppy, and you could of gone faster through the first. You were really off-line and braked too late for the first corner at Midfield. I'm already thinking of powering out of that corner where you started braking. Infact, I was surprised how slow you actually went through that corner. I'm a slow poke when it comes to driving, but I see my ass if I go through that first corner at less than 100mph in any car (I usually average about 112mph). In the RUF you were driving with the power and tyres it had, you should of been doing close to 140mph by the exit of the second linking corner, but you were doing a lot less. Cool videos though, keep 'em coming! :dopey:

Ha! Fair comment :) Although i should repeat again that these vids were all in aid of our mx5 clubs competition, so the taunts were just to wind up my mates!
I know that some of my racing lines werent spot on... the funny thing is, these competitions have actually (for the first time in about 10 years of playing GT) prompted me to really think about racing lines etc.

Im currently working on some new vids (all this capturing video onto a PC is new to me) so i'll post up some new shortly - this time not just limited to "behind the car".

PS, We have a section of our forum decicated to GT4 here

My own *real* car is this bad boy!

👍 Nice one! Looking back at my comments, I may of seemed a little harsh, if thats the case, I will apologise - I'm sorry. You took my comments well, considering. 👍 Your video's were good to watch, and there were some corners you took very well - better than I could ever of. Maybe I should post a video for you to pull apart eh? Keep 'em coming man! :dopey:

I'll see your 1'10.094 and raise you a 1'09.898! (that was my mates winning lap)

But he jumps over 2 corners! You've obviously never heard of OLR rules. At least 2 wheels must remain on, or above, track at all times (kerbs are part of the track)

He went off twice.
You went off once.
I went off.... oh, actually, no I didn't go off at all.

Nope - hadnt heard of that. But then this isnt an entry into your competitions.... our comps are a little less strict - just getting around as quick as possible is the idea!

I realise that this is from another contest and will therefore have it's own rules. You should perhaps consider incorporating those rules into your contests. You don't see real racers cutting corners like that.

Nice lap Daan. Daddycool, did you allow suspension mods in your comp? It's just an impression, but your car looks stiffer than Daan's. Not a criticism, just idle curiosity...

Yeah any mods excluding nitrous oxide it seems, from the first post

Yep - any mods allowed, except (for that comp) NOS. I think i did have it fairly standard, although i did lower the car slightly, and stiffered up the ARB's.

I never touched the suspension. I just gave it the full power mods, racing gearbox, R5 tyres & lightening. I was also 0.4 up on my own lap by T1 on the next lap, but crashed at the hairpin.
