Nice picture at the top. 👍 The rules look pleasantly familiar, too. :sly: It's a great combo, too; it's a very challenging track for this car because of the elevation changes and the fast kinks that come immediately before corners. My best lap so far has these splits:

20.402 - 41.382 (I might have the last digit wrong)

The first corner looks terrible - it's very shaky as I try to keep the car from stepping out too early and too far - but it's the fastest I've done it; the turn over the crest wasn't very good, but the rest of the lap was about as good as I can do it, I think. As always with this car, the biggest problem is piecing together all your best corners.

I have one question - are we allowed to hit cones? I didn't, but it might help to have that bit of extra room coming downhill.

Haha, thanks. And the rules should look familiar, they're based off of the Honda Cup rules :sly:

Yes it is, I'll edit it into the first post.
Responses in bold.
Is this in GT4? :)
Of Course!

T's after 15 laps. 22.327 - 45.585. Hit plenty of cones. Mainly because they were on the track from my prior laps. lol. Seems much more difficult than El Capitan. Probably because the track is much tighter.

I improved my lap by .020, which hardly seems worth mentioning. My splits were both slower, at 20.495 - 41.442. I've done all three sectors faster than I did on either of my two fastest laps so far, but, it should go without saying, never all on one lap. With all my best sectors, I would probably be 0.2-0.3 faster. I really just have to accept that that's what happens when driving this car at full tilt.

Those splits are just crazy, like you would be running with N4's  :scared::crazy::drool:

Sofar fastest T1 I've seen was 20.75x

My current splits:
T1 21.097
T2 42.602

MadMax

PM'd my lap time.

So far my splits are:
T1: 21.740
T2: 43.296

Haven't driven this car in a while so I had to get back in the groove of the lift off oversteer and terrible brakes that it has. The N3s don't grip too bad even though the back end can be quite lively in 2nd and 3rd gear. I'm thinking I could knock about 0.4-0.5s off my lap time if I could just get through the first long right hand corner after the straight smoothly. Usually end up pushing too hard and braking too late and carrying to much speed into the corner which then turns into a fast in slow out situation. May try some more laps this week and see if I can get any faster.

Action shot anyone?

G'Day all,

I recently received a very friendly invitation from oldmodelt to find my way over here and join in some Races.

I know there is not much time left for the Yellowbird challenge but I will do my best to get a time posted.

I will also enter the Honda races as well.

Talk to you all soon,

Rolf.

I think it's worth pointing out that the deadline is actually 10:00 PM GMT, not 12:00 AM. Eastern Daylight Time in the US is only four hours behind GMT.

I've submitted, and I'll have a video ready when the results are up. 👍

^^Oops. The deadline is still 12:00 AM GMT, which was a few minutes ago. Results coming momentarily.

That makes sense, too. Congratulations to everyone for even completing a lap on such a hard combo, and getting fast times as well. :)

My lap:

G'Day all.
It seems I have missed the deadline :dunce: , and therefore have no valid entry. I am at work and do not have my details to hand.
It is no biggie as I have been celebrating my Birthday and, ahem, "lost focus"
I am also more used to having deadlines at Midnight PT ( which is about 6 pm on a Monday night here in Oz ).

I will try to be more switched on in future.
Just for interest I was about low 21's and 43's on the laps I managed to complete with a total about 1 ' 09 .5xxx.

Later.

Once again a great lap Austin343. I'm still trying to find some Kryptonite to send to you. lol.

Good times by all who competed. Amazing lap there too Austin. Donno how you made it look so easy.

Don't worry; it isn't easy. I crashed plenty of times at the first corner, and too often backed into the wall past the concrete runoff after T1, or took too long to steer back onto the tarmac in the last corner (for fear of unsettling the car) and drove straight into the grass. Again, a perfect lap would have been a few tenths faster, but that's far out of my reach.

Lancer, are you planning to post the next round soon?

^Probably tonight. I still have to get the pictures for it.

Well done everyone.

Now a query ? - I only have a dialup internet account so I cannot see any videos posted when I am at home.
I could watch them at work except they seem to be blocked for this site.
Do you have the vids hosted somewhere else so I can try and see them from there ?
Thanks in advance.

I've already deleted the raw file from this particular lap, but I can upload future laps to Photobucket as well. 👍 Be warned that this is not a high-quality capture - it's a point-and-shoot camera recording a video off a 1980s TV! So you aren't missing anything in that regard.

Thank you for the response.
It is no big deal, I will get to watch it next time I am at my internet cafe doing some uploading of my own vids.
I sometimes upload or download from home if the files are less than 30 mb, this takes about 3 hours.
I am hoping to upgrade to a decent broadband service soon.

Thanks again.

Lancer, are you still planning on running this series? It's been an awfully long time since the end of the test round, and I don't think interest is growing the longer you wait.

Guess he's really busy or he lost interest. This had the potential to be a good series. :guilty:

I've just been busy and haven't been able to get it up. I'm taking the pictures as we speak and the first round should be up tonight.
