Last time I saw a RUF CTR was at Castle Coombe circuit (UK) about 7 years ago. Very impressive - it had been race prepped and was showering sparks from the front spoiler.

Only thing was there was a Morris Minor slowly gaining on it - I kid thee not - perhaps something to do with a tuned V8 where the passengers seat would normally be!

Hmmm now if only I could get a V8 into an Alto.
 
nah, i dont like RUFs that much...they handle like a bag of crap on a warm sunny day..

I haven't driven the CTR yet, but the RGT and the 3400S have beautiful handling in my books. The RGT is easily my favourite road car to drive in GT3. I guess it's all personal preference.
 
Even the CTR, with its massive understeer, handles well once you learn how to drive it instead of expecting it to learn how you drive.
 
CTR2 can be tuned for neutral handling just as well as any other high-powered street awd car in the game.

RGT is arguably the best handling street car in the game, both stock and modded.

Actually turbo...

If you take it over to the weekly, you will find that the rgt is indeed one of the best.

Only the Zonda, toyota gt-one road, nissan r390 road, speed 12 and gt40 can compete with the rgt in a unlimited road car challenge. (the lotus esprit does a good job too but can't keep up in the end.)

To me that says, "badass"

I mean, those are all major race cars that are basically just tuned for the road. (with some exceptions)

Then again, if you look into it, many here at the board (expressed in the "road car vs true road car" thread.) believe that the "road" cars above are actually not really in the same category as the rest of the road cars in the game...

With that in mind, I think it is a safe bet to say the rgt is the best road car in the game.

First off, it can take 1100 hp.
Second, it can handle that hp too. :trouble:

Anyway, Im a big fan of the rgt, so I am biased in opinion, but oh well. :D

Just saying... take another look at the rgt some time from now, you may like it later on if you don't like it now.
 
hold on...every one is assuming that a bag of crap on a hot sunny day handles badly....

i am joking of course...once you fix the understeer on the CTR2 its a beast...

i was feeling charitable and in the mood to ressurect an old post..:)
 
The RUFs are great in just about every aspect. Handling, styling, colors, speed. It is pretty amazing to me that the CTR 2 can compete with the other high-powered road cars if fully tuned. Most other road cars in GT3 cannot.
 
That made now sense what so ever. (the last bit) Yeh the RGT and CTR2 are sweet cars by anyones standards.
 
RUF = Ruf (pronounced "Roof", sort of).

But I'm sure we all knew that by now... :D
 
I love driving the CTR2 stock in the Polyphony cup. As Duke says, once you learn how to get it to turn, it's a great car.
 
It's the last name of Alois Ruf, the company founder.
 
As is the case of ... most companies in the world. Especially car manufacturers.

i think one of the few exeptions to the last name rule is TVR, isn't it suposed to be letters from the founders first name TreVoR (spelling?) or something along those lines...but this has nothing to do with the Ruf,so ill stop now:D

As a side note, Alois Ruf currently runs Ruf. But the company is named after his father. Alois Ruf... :D
 
How original, the sons name I mean. The could have atleast adde like 2.0 or something.

I drove a CTR2 in the PD Cup (no, it wasn't even close). That car was fun to drive when the rear tires turned light orange. You could only get about 7-9 laps out of the car, but I put on better laps when those rear tires got seriously worn, for whatever reason.

I'd love to try it with the RGT, but I know I'll slaughter the comp in that series.
