I had this car from the start it was my second car in the game... Painted it Matte Yellow and tuned it up with better exhausts, adjustable suspension the lot... Now it sounds terrible and handles better...

I had to sell it, even if I took everything off - the exhaust still sounds rubbish and not how it should... 👎

Anyone has done the same thing?...

Realised that only stock LFA is the best...

So you're saying that once the sound changed (b/c of the exhaust modifications) you couldn't undo the sound? Seems like a software glitch?

Now I'm worried about that for my LP-670 SV. I modified the exhaust and it sounds awful. But stock it was oh so sweet.

I never do nothing to that kind of cars...is a waste of time and why tune that supercars if they are already super cars??....pss...then in online races is not funny when everybody have this kind of cars "super tuned" and win every race only for that purpose and makes races not fair. Even if you tune it with everything and then you are a bad driver and loose all the time.
But i think that Ferraris (for example) and all of the super cars in the game must stay just like that.
Stock cars are great.
(i used to tune cars too but not everyone like i said, not the super cars cause they lost their "magic")

I agree with this, I know I'll get a torrent of "no way doods" but I almost wish the tuning didn't exist. I much prefer to drive a car with all it's real life quirks instead of just tuning it into a perfect machine.

To the OP, I would just do a seasonal event and buy a new one, that's the best way to get it back to stock really.

Because, Ferrari for example, are more worried about how their cars sound than getting more power out of them.

You can go into the tuning menu for your car and reverse some modifications. You can't do it for something like stage 3 engine tuning, but you can for a turbo. I'm not sure if exhaust is one of those reversible tunes, but you may want to check on any other cars you've ruined with a racing exhaust. :)

👍 This.

PROTIP: If you go to your garage and equip the stock exhaust, the sound will return to where it is supposed to be. Then you can go into an event and bolt the performance exhaust back on before you start the race, and the note will still be as it is with the original stock pipes.

That fixes that. :sly:

How about the best of both worlds. Get 2 of whatever car it is you want. Keep one stock and tune up the other.

I do it regularly and although some cars are indeed better stock, others are great when tuned.

This happened to me as well. I installed the racing exhaust, took the LFA for a spin at Suzuka, then I removed the racing exhaust, but it sounded like the racing exhaust was still fitted when I drove it afterwards. It did however change back to its original exhaust sound after I reset the game. It's only ever happened to me with the LFA which is strange.

You're right. I own a stock white LFA and it sounds more than great. I bought one as a gift to my friend and tuned it. It didn't sound well as you said. Tried removing the exhausts but didn't change:grumpy:

Yeah once you tune the Lexus with an different exhaust, you take it off and the sound doesn't return into stock (the best) sound...

I had to sell the one that I tuned... I killed it... :guilty:

Anyways I own 8 Lexus LFA's now - all stock and stock colours (I'm sad I know), Waiting for 8 more to get from friends... :D

LFA FAN

The only upgrade I did to my Matte Black LFA was Racing tires...Yamaha engineers must be really pissed off with people who dare to change the exhaust note!!!

Dear Yamaha

Sorry, I totally ruined your exhaust sound by putting on some cheap and rubbish exhaust on, that cost cr.5,000. I promise I won't do it again. I've learned my lesson 👍

Boy from the other town...

P.S. Damn that price of the Lexus is sky high, I'd still buy it if I'd have deep pockets...

this dude has it right. I do the same.

Im a big Mclaren fan and have 6 mclaren F1'94s, all with different levels of mods. To each ive assigned a particular type of track.

for example:
Stock Hp, stage 3 weight redux for nurburgring
Stage 1 Hp, Stage 2 weight redux for Suzuka, Fuji
Fully modded for high speed ring, daytona.....etc etc

Works great for me

Though expensive, I follow the same line of thinking with a variety of my cars for online use. If you like a particular car, it makes good sense to have as many options for it as you can, in order to fit ever-changing room restrictions.

From another thread:

I have four Premium S2000s that I use online. The first has everything bought for it for maximum potential power. The second has everything bought for it but Stage engine upgrades for lowest potential power. The third has everything bought for it but full weight reduction, to keep it at 1200+kg and maximum potential power. The fourth has bought for it but Stage engine upgrades and full weight reduction, to also keep it at 1200+kg and lowest potential power.

Pain? You betcha, but it's a small price to pay for being able to use a car I like in any room that allows street cars, from 250hp, and up to 500hp -- with allowances for weird weight restrictions.
