It's like physics - we can't explain why a bumble bee is able to fly

Actually, yes, we can. It's just a widely spread urban myth that, according to our physics, bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly....
Wikipedia
The calculations that purported to show that bumble bees cannot fly are based upon a simplified linear treatment of oscillating aerofoils. The method assumes small amplitude oscillations without flow separation. This ignores the effect of dynamic stall, an airflow separation inducing a large vortex above the wing, which briefly produces several times the lift of the aerofoil in regular flight. More sophisticated aerodynamic analysis shows that the bumblebee can fly because its wings encounter dynamic stall in every oscillation cycle.

Yeah, that's enough smartassery, I know :D
I'll go get my coat...

Oh, oscillating aerofoils! This is good to know, but imagine having to figure out a thousand little quirks like this just to get an emulator running. Good grief.

The problem is deeper. You have software running on it that you can't see the source for. You don't know what weird routines they're running through the chipsets.

Which is why I think if it was done officially is would be possible because you would have full access to the all top secret schematics and inner workings of the PS2 and all the coding that's going on whereas people doing it unofficially can only know so much about the system through reverse engineering etc.

xbox and pc Not going to happen (Portal 2 and PC on the other hand its good) Then where is Sony's part in the PC? no where why have something that is more 1 then the other?? They really desperate due to the RRoD??

I might be a little out of date here as I don't know a lot about the 360 but don't the games come on HD-DVDs, a lot higher capacity than standard DVDs, but different format to Blu-Ray? Do many PCs have drives that play these? Mine sure as hell doesn't, but it's getting kinda old.

Ah my bad, thanks, I guess I should've looked that up first. I just remembered something about it playing HD-DVD movies which were on higher capacity discs, but never caught on as a movie format like Blu-Rays, but assumed the games came on those too.

Microsoft briefly sold an external HD-DVD drive for the 360 that allowed to system to play HD-DVD films, but it sold about as well as you would expect and they took it off the market before HD-DVD was even dead.
