Browsing the Forza subreddit, I came across a thread titled "Rumour: Audi to follow Toyota path" with this image in the OP:

Just to add, Justin Washington is a community manager for Gameloft, which I suppose adds some more validity to his claims. Thoughts? Personally I would be devastated if The Crew 2 is the last arcade racer to feature Audis for the foreseeable future, especially with titles like Forza Horizon 4 and V-Rally 4 around the corner. :nervous:

I highly doubt community managers are knowledgeable on things like licensing of manufacturers considering they it's pretty much a PR position.

They'd only know if they asked a staff member with knowledge on the subject, and since he's CM, he'd be passing on any available info to answer questions asked to him when possible.

So who did he ask than? Because him being community manager doesn't suddenly give him infinite credibility, he still needs to disclose his sources.

As of this post nobody knows for certain why Toyota has been absent from recent games. There's been plenty of rumors (the "only wanting to be in sim racing games" isn't new), but nothing that really proves any of them true. Until that happens I'm putting this one into the same category as every other theory.
