I love me both old and slow cars, so me + GT5 = perfect fit. ♥

Was looking at a Subaru 360 yesterday, and to my amazement the stock transmission sais:

Top Speed: 0 miles (at the bottom Top Speed box).

:lol: :lol: :lol:



Any other car in GT5 you can overtake by limping on a crutch?

I thought every stock transmission had zero or perhaps blank in the setting for the Top Speed adjustment. The actual number is up top, the one you can change is just a setting and never indicates your actual gearbox top speed anyway.
 
Arent all standard transmissions (ie. non racing) like that?

I have no idea. But if it is, why does the manufacturers want to keep the stock Top Speed a secret?

I mean, it does show in the top box.

I dont think thats the case, othwerwise wouldnt they all implement speed limters on alll the cars in game :lol:

The only reason i can think of is that PD thought it wouldnt be needed because you cant change the ratios of a stock transmission.
 
Anyome knows why sometimes, there is a difference in the 2 Top Speed boxes?

Meh not much difference truth be told. GT has higher res textures on the ground but some places (like the tirewall at La Sarthe) are worse. GT5 has better lighting effects on the cars but Forza seems to have less jaggy edges.

If you like PS3, GT5 is best.
If you like XBOX, Forza is best.
If you like PS3 and XBOX get both or pick one at random.
 
Actually every car with stock transmission will tell you max speed = 0
 
Forza had a fighting chance earlier (I give you that).

But after PD updated the graphics on standards, they left Forza in the beautifully rendered sunset. :D

I guess xbox360 players never sleeps ...

This also shows, while PS3 games still are getting better, xbox360 games already show lack of stamina.

That's because the one at the bottom is a wacky setting PD invented to simplify things for people who don't know how or don't want to bother adjusting the actual gear ratios. It could just as easily be A-Z in that box. That setting adjusts all of the other ratios together for you.

The number at the top of the window is the top speed calculated from what the actual gear ratios are and your car's rev limit.

So if you adjust the one at the bottom to 300 mph and then set your final gear really low(high numbers=low gearing) the actual top speed will drop way down and the two numbers won't match.

The question is, is there any advantage to actually adjusting the "top speed" setting? I tried playing with it and I still was never able to get a first gear that was actually worth using.

Nokkien derailed his own thread. lol It was for good measure though. I THINK the fight is dead. I don't even care about not being able to try FM4 with a wheel. Turn 10 and MS messed up having Fanatec make one true wheel for Forza, but it costs more than/equal to twice a PS3.


If the Fiat were able to go up that hill, FAIL would be a necessary word for the video. To use FAIL, it would have to be "Fiat FAIL".
