Well so I would love to race this brand new Mazda RX-7 I just bought and dumped a ton of money in. Just one problem after an oil change and 90miles of racing the horsepower with NO engine mods is 210hp! The limit is 204 the car had 207 after an oil change so I decided to put it in a race for an hour and see if it would go down from the oil getting old. I am now at 210hp! GRRRR!!!!
Don't change your oil it is a huge mistake. Of course not as big of a mistake as PD not realizing this was going to happen.
Whats worse is I heard someone tweeted Kaz about the ability to use restrictor plates or something to effect HP and he said maybe. At least give us boost tuning like so many other games have had in the past!!! That way I could tune my boost down to 204 on the dot!
You should be able to revert a mod back to stock (to put you under the hp cap) enter the race and then re-equip it as long as it's within reason. I was able to do the GT-R race with 491 or 493 hp.
Same thing happened to me with the Fiat race!! I bought one and it had 63hp, while the limit was 65. So I thought I'd see if changing the oil on a brand new car would have any effect, even though it shouldn't. Guess what? Now I have 66hp!! Are you freakin' kidding me?!!

Trans 20k, Susp 15k, clutch, flywheel, lsd, drive shaft, I think you can do a lil bit of weight reduction. Then add the car I'm sure it was around 100k which now that they made grinding easier isn't that big of a deal but still it was a waste of time too.
It is just silly that PD overlooked this and the lack of restrictor plates or boost controllers.
Why do people not see changing the oil as a performance modification? Maybe the hp increases are a little exaggerated but a better quality oil will change the way an engine performs in the real world and that is reflected in the game. Does a 5hp increase over the cap from an exhaust give you less of an advantage than a 5hp increase over the cap from an oil change?
As for new cars, do you really think car manufacturers use the best oil possible in all their cars? A good quality after market oil will usually be better than whatever cheap crap they roll of the floor with. Maybe more expensive cars get better quality stuff but any new car I could afford will have the oil replaced pretty quickly.
just spend another 5000 or maybe even less and revise the engine and it will be back to normal - its no big deal really
The cars power increases in the first 500km and with n oil chance its always been like that in all previous GTs.
that's nothing! I spent 160,000 Cr on a new Nissan GT-R specV. Did an oil change and went over the HP limit!! Sold it, and had to grind to make enough Cr to buy another..
Funny how people change the oil for the new cars knowing that this will increase the hp (why would you do it otherwise... there is already oil in the car) and then complain about the car going over the hp limit.
