I know its not the quickest, cos i've seen the awesome video of the 6.49 on the ring for this license, but i just done a 6.54.860 which i thought was pretty respectable, what is anyone else gettin for it?

Apologies if there is already a thread on this, im off to have another go!

Well done Lambolover 👍 I know it takes a while to get the time you did.

holl01, I see you've gone faster now 👍 Great stuff man. Oh you might remember me as gtracer from ozzie forum :sly:
It gives me more reason to go back at the S-16 but first I'm going to see if I can get low 4'50's on the Minolta Toyota @ the 'Ring as veilsidebrs seems to be getting away with awesome time.

Cheers

yo, gtracer, i remeber u when we were doing that irish challenge, hows it goin?

Sup holl01 :) Ye I remember we had that 350Z challenge and you nailed that one mate. I wonder who ended up winning that car and if that comp was wall and shortcuts free.
I was pretty happy when I went little quicker than your time on S-16 but now you've come up with 6'46! Damn you! lol
Didn't you get top 10 in the Wheels magazines's GT4 challenge? I was visiting TORC forum and I think I saw something about it there... I totally missed that comp as I didn't even know it was been run :(

yes, vuda, i did the MOtOR mag competition and i came 3rd and 2nd, but i didnt cheat as much as the winner did, they somehow did 7'02.xxx in the 350Z, is that even possible?? btw, i did a 7'12.xxx clean, i think if the competition was indeed clean i would have won probably.

what time did u get 4 S16, and have u watched the replay i posted for it? (did u find ur x-port yet, haha)

Hey holl01, it was a pity that the comp wasn't run properly.
I found the X-port the other day but now I have to find the two CD's that came with that thing lol
I got 6'49.384 for S-16 but it was pretty messy run and I know there are more improvents that I can make. I should hurry and find my damn CD's so I can check out how u did ur run.

yes u should, i actually snapped my xport ps2 disc in half by mistake a month a go! so i bought a max drive a few weeks ago, but the xport is better in that u can tell which replay is what by the dates. surely the discs are laying around somewhere... cya

Im sooo far behind you guyz... The slowest aussie to race S16!!!!
:(

Cheers Vuda,

I dont think i can get a 6.49 like you done but i think i can get quite close.

My gilrfriend goes away this weekend so i will be able to get back on the wheel as i dont seem to get much chance when she is around!

Its good to do the licence times cos you know everyone is in the same machinery, and besides i dont have a vehicle that will run under 5 on the ring yet!

I'll try again, there's always time to gain.......... :sly:

hey are the physics different in arcade mode and simulation mode? if not, I just technically did a 6:41.036 in the S-16 test. I actually did it in arcade mode under time trial. I didn't change a thing on the DTM car as far as quick tune or top speed tune(or w/e you call it), I used R3 tires, and I didn't go off the track or touch the wall(even tap it).

I'm not sure of any difference (probably there is...) but if you can pull that time in arcade mode without going off why not do it in the S-16 license to make it a same comparison to others who do the S-16?

IF you can get the same time in S-16 in the same time, you'd be the fastest in the world by 5 seconds :sly:

apparently there are differences in physics or clock speed because the quickest I can turn in the S-16 test is 6:55.753. I'm starting to wonder if it's the manditory driver aids that are turned on for the test because I can get all the same corner speeds w/o a problem and my 1st sector time is the same. I just can't figure out what else is causing it. everything else is consistent with the arcade mode except the final time. and I did notice the car was a bit more sluggish then in the arcade mode. I thought maybe different tires, but as I said, I can get the same cornering speeds. this is starting to piss me off. if anyone knows what is causing this. please enlighten me.

:EDIT: I did a search and apparently there are NO DIFFERENCES between arcade mode and GT Mode physics. I'm off to do a test to see if it was the driving aids that made the difference.

rock.

also, is it possible to turn the driving aids off for the license tests?

rock.

Yes, there is a big difference between arcade mode and GT mode about phisics aspects. In arcade mode, the car seems easier to drive and more faster at all.

nah, there isn't any difference. the S-16 license test uses Super Hard Racing Tires. you can see it in the replay. I actually ran a 6:39.xxx in GT mode as compared to the 6:41.xxx in arcade. so if anything it's faster. but I belive it was just down to the GT mode being a better lap. yea, the difference was the S-16 was using R1's. not R3's.

BTW, I'm sad that holl01 and veilsidebr is consistently at least 10 seconds faster then me on the Nurb and 2 or 3 seconds faster then me on any regular track. espically since I have hopes of getting into F1. do you guys actually race in real life? or just none at all? any experience of real life racing at all?

rock. :(

I race in karting and streets, but nothing professional meanwhile. But my wish is to become a F1 driver or a race car driver. I can say that i know the driving basics for race car driving, all the things in general, just need to put that into a track.
