At the first checkpoint my time is 24.3

At the second check my time is 50-51

At the third, it is 1'29-1'30

At the finish, my best was 1'56.582

I don't have a perfect time on this one, but I actually got gold, so maybe my advice will be helpful.
First checkpoint : around 24.1, so your 24.3 is enough.
Second checkpoint : around 49.5, you already miss a second.
Third checkpoint : around 1:27.x, you've got work on this segment.
Finish : 1:52.187.

The key on this one is to keep your speed as high as possible in the turns. Here are the speeds I expected for myself :
right hand turn after CP1 : between 90 and 100 km/h.
left hand turn in tunnels : between 117 and 130 km/h.
left hand turn at opposite straight end : more than 100 km/h.
right hand turn before CP3 : more than 100 km/h again.
left hand turn after CP3: more than 100 km/h.
last left/right turn : flat-out :D around 146 km/h.

Good luck...

Great, but we're more curious than that... We know all about your best lap before, we want to know all about your best lap now. With such good advisors ;) you got gold, for sure.

umm... well no. i got bronze, which is all i want for now. my time was 1.55.974, which is .026 seconds faster than a passing grade. I suck with slow cars. Ive become so dependent on fast cars.

Keep working on it ceiling_fan. Have you gotten the 787B from the Like the Wind Race yet? That was the whole reason I wanted the S-license...

Cool, this is my 100th post! YAY!

for some reason that was the 2nd easiest for me (S1 was the easiest). lucky for you, though as there already is other threads discussing just that test.

Just wondering, has any one got all golds on S liscense?

I've accomplished it numerous times. It gets a lot easier the more you do it. It's the best way to learn how to drive the cars properly. If it was up to me, everbody would be forced to get all gold on the license exams before getting the best cars, (F1s), in the game.

Glad it's not up to you ;)

I do. In fact, I have the at least 6 golds on each S license except S-3, where I only have 3. This one is a tough gold. You must be very very smooth to carry speed through the turns because the car doesn't accellerate much at all.

Getting all golds in all of the liscens is rather easy for experianced players. Once anyone gets use to the driving then they can get golds as well. Just keep trying and trying and you'll find out where your loosing time.

S8 has to be the easyest one to get gold on, use a manual and keep it in 3rd or 4th gear and you will be able to easily get gold ;)

I'd have to disagree with that. One of the best drivers I know doesn't have all golds. He doesn't have a lot of patience and there's a few tests that require a lot of patience to just do until you get them (like A7).

It's the easiest S license gold provided you can drive with manual transimision. Some people don't and that makes it quite hard (unless they can master the AT downshift supression timing which I never could). I would not limit yourself to one gear. You're going to need 3rd for the tight corners and you're going to need 5th on the downhill and I think the long uphill too if memory serves.

The gold pass time for S8 on the NTSC version (USA) is the silver pass time for the PAL version (Europe and Australia). The silver time on S8 (PAL) is easy with manual or auto. The gold time on Pal is almost impossible with auto and still very hard on Manual.
I got gold using manual. I tended to go to 1st gear to help flick the tail out coming out of the corner and then quickly change up to 3rd to prevent wheel spin when accelerating hard.

On the sharp turm with the high rumble strip in cote, i used the handbrake to whip the butt around. It was risky, but i was able to do it easily. (btw im refering to S8)

How can people NOT drive the manual at S8? Rather simple, put the car in 3rd for the corners and upshift to 4th for the straights. Thats only a few up shifts that they have to make the whole time  not hard at all.

Well thats because he's impatient. If he has the experiance and skill then he should be able to do it. Anyone with skill and experiance can get the golds, patience is a virture of experiance.

I think it was flat-out on page 1 of this thread who mentioned not getting F1s until you get all golds. 👍

But it would take some much fun away from the game at the same time since people like me, couldn't get super license gold until I came to the gtp and learned how to really race.

Now I can do all golds. :D
(have a pal gold on my ntsc s8... didn't want to be a slacker compared to the euros) ;)

As for this test... s3.

I just ran this test again actually...
I took a few weeks off from gt3 and went back to socom, and that created a problem. I hadn't raced in a while, so I needed some practice.

In comes this thread.
I saw this thread and figured, what the hell! I need the practice and this test is a nice one to start with.

Well needless to say, I nailed the gold in a few tries. ;)
But it was still a nice race to work on.

The bottom line for this race is to remember that keeping your speed up is key.

Also, since you're driving a stock-ish (don't really know) miata, you can't do un-needed down shifts running into redline.

Down shifting into 2nd on many of those turns is tempting, especially since the redlined engine sounds fast, however, the only spot you need to drop into second is the turn right after T1.
Other than that turn, 3rd will carry you through every turn, and do it faster.

Good luck and remember, run it over and over, and even use your ghost to find where you lost that precious time.

Also, remember my comments about 3rd gear and not dropping into second anywhere except the first turn after t1.

If you can keep all that in mind, you should be able to nail down a bronze without too much work.

Good luck. :D

Keeping your speed up + proper gear selection + ghost run & demo studies = victory. 👍

For me S3 was one of my favourite tests, although it took forever. S-7 though......I hate it with passion. Can't bronze no matter what so i've just given up....

Still got S4-S8 to do...finally got S2, and after I beat the bronze by .75 s, I realized I could've done way better because there were a couple of turns that I didn't hit as fast as I had in my previous attempts. S3 took awhile too, but not nearly as long. Just had to be very very smooth, for awhile I was stuck and couldn't tweak out that extra .5 s to get it. I seem to do better on the tests that use a slower car. My guess is I'll have an easier time with S7 than with S4...

Not really. A7 is 14.2 seconds of pure frustration for most people. Try to beat him on a full course and you'll have your work cut out for you. He's better than me and I've made gold on A7 at least a dozen times.
