FormulaCar World Series league testing race night guys. This are non points tonight. You will not be locked in to a car this week. Oh I be checking replays regularly for this league. Reminder you must use 2 different dry tires during the race at Barcelona-Catalunya. Your choice which tires to use. It doesn't rain in Spain according to Gran Turismo. So no chance of the tire mandate being canceled. See you soon.

Lobby Open! The room will be reset before starting qualifying / race. We are not using BOP. It should not effect your setups. I do not plan to go back to practice after qualifying.

Thank you everyone who attended tonight test races. To those that didn't I hope your bed is comfy. Points races start next week with the Fuji Grand Prix and Broad Bean 120. And then a 2 week break before week 2. I'll explain why later. Also because how close these races were on time. I'm pushing back the race 2 start times to 10:05pm EDT. The race replays were posted. They might be useful to those who didn't attended this.

Intro

The 2026 Summer Fall Series will be an open wheel series featuring the Gran Turismo F3500A and F3500B. This series is ideas Formula 1 and IndyCar spliced together. A 10 week 20 race season. Each week will be 2 races at different tracks including a few ovals. Races being between 30 and 45 minutes duration. And visiting almost every country with a race track in the game at least once. With exception of Australia. Said they couldn't host. Something about an alien abductions problem. Anyways this league will begin August 22nd and run into early December.

An hour of practice between races? Why not knock that down to 15-20 minutes so there is not so much idle time?
Because I'm not the NASCAR brass after covid for one. Some players do have lives out the game. And I assume not everyone has time to practice on their own time. I don't always get time to practice during the week. And I'm not the greatest with open wheel cars. So maybe I want the practice. Also want some time rest and take a bathroom break between races. From some reason my right shoulder gets sore during long races. Still don't fully understand why there of all places.

What does any of that have to do with NASCAR and Covid? It seems that if players "have lives" that they would rather not waste an hour of it waiting for the next race to start. From what I have seen in the many years that I have run your series is that not many players take advantage of that practice time, including you. They may run a couple laps here and there but that's about it. Besides, I'm not sure how much one is going to learn over an hour of practice, especially with the distraction of messages popping up and cars disappearing in front of you. Did you ever consider asking the players who actually attend the races if they prefer a long or short intermission?

Nascar got rid of practice during covid. Then brought it back for some races at a very reduced duration. Saying teams can just use their simulators instead.

I ran practice laps yesterday. And so did those who. You would see others players practice if you should up earlier. I usually stop early near the end of practice so I can take a break and monitor the time. There's also times I'm helping new players and don't get as much as a I want. And there's one other factor why may practice the entire time. Unlike everyone else I can't simply leave to perform car maintenance. Those this problem I started combating own multiple cars.

And no I don't ask others opinions. I'm running this for me as well. It's the player's choice if they chose to take advantage of the provide practice time.

I try to take advantage of the practice time, it's also good to have some time if i need to walk away from the console between races. I think most important is just that the schedule is known and we stick to it.

OK, I understand, I suppose I reserve the right to not participate in the series if I don't like it.

We just had another state the like practice and option of some down between the races. So yeah I'm going to operating as is. Here I the F1 die hard would to race this league more than anyone. But if don't wish to participate because you're being petty about me offering others practice time. When then that's on you. I guess see you for 430km of Autopolis 2nd Annual Group C Christmas Special December. Oh wait that's probably too long. Guess the 2027 Super GT league but, I'm sure you'll find something complain for that too. As long as someone else shows up. The races will be held.

Maybe because I am a fan of F1 I don't like extended practice. Some races have 3 practice sessions over 3 days before racing and qualifying starts, some races have a single practice session before qualifying and races start but once practice is over they do not interrupt racing with more practice.

Maybe I am the only one who has ever witnessed it but it is not unusual for other participants to type "ready" or "let's start" in the chat window. I am by far from the only one that has done that.

Yeah each individual race weekend gets it's own practice sessions. I consider both races a separate race weekends. I only joined them together to be able more stops. Both get their own practice of which I try to keep equal length or close to it.

And I refuse to start before the advertised in case of last minute arrives. Which by the way. Often benefits you of all players.

This is the setup I choose for this league. I'm not going to a complete overhaul of the lobby schedule. And confuse players right before the league starts.

Actually the lobbies always start a few minutes late, I'm not sure how you think that benefits me, I have never been late and I have run these series since their inception.

Hey guys reminder that FormulaCar World Series league starts this Sat Aug 22nd at Fuji Speedway and Broad Bean Raceway. After the 1st week will be off for 2 weeks. As I'm unintentionally copying the beginning this year's Formula 1 season. Next Sat Aug 29th is NASCAR's 2nd Daytona race. It's 1 of 4 races left I can get on streaming. So I be watching that. The following Sat Sept 5th Labor day weekend. I might have plans that day. So I'm keeping it open for now. I might host something for fun that day if free.

Please be aware Gran Turismo has done a lot of little fixes with this recent update. Which has effected performance points for the cars including the F3500-A and F3500-B. So I have chosen to remove the PP Limit completely. I recommend you check your cars if you can. I'm unfortunately not sure if I'll be on again before Saturday. So I possibly finding out right before our races if my setups still work for the car.

This Saturday is our 1st 2 races for the FormulaCar World Series. Week 1 is the Fuji Grand Prix and Broad Bean 120. The 1st race was originally planned for Australia but, I rejected using Mt Panorama for several reasons including the track's lack of history with open wheel racing. Fuji has hosted f1 for 2 brief stints. Along with Indy in the past. Our 2nd race is at Broad Bean. An oddly shaped oval that maybe loosely based on the long defunct Trenton Speedway. Anyways see you tomorrow night.

Alright guys FormulaCar World Series opening night. I have not been on since Thursday morning. So I have no idea what my car is going to drive like after this update. Anyways see you very soon.

Hey guys reminder no league races this week or next week. FormulaCar World Series Week 2 is scheduled for Sat 9/12/26. I will not be available this week at all during normal league the operations time. As for Labor Day Weekend Saturday. We might be doing at day trip that. Should we not go I might host something for fun instead. Anyone has any interesting requests they would be fun. Don't be afraid to post them. Personally I think a Labor Day Weekend special should be something difficult.

Hey guys hope you rich race car drivers enjoying your fantasized vacations. This Wednesday is 10 days out until our FormulaCar World Series Week 2 races. The Croatian Grand Prix at Dragon Trail Gardens. And the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona GP No Chicane. This Saturday is still a mystery if I'll be free to host anything or not. In case I am free. Anyone have a request? Something that be bought new is preferred if it's a one-make.

I am open to anything really, one suggestion I have is been redoing all my 600pp road car tunes since the physics update and have plenty of those ready to race
Most of my tuned cars still need work. I haven't even gotten to all the Gr. Classed cars yet. They changed a lot with the this update.

Hey guys I've decided to host some Gr.1 races tomorrow for fun. Open at 7pm. All Gr.1 welcome. Four half hour races at the bottom of each hour. With the new cars and this update I'm curious about the class dynamics now. I busy tonight. So I'm winging fuel and tire settings and track selection.

Some additional announcements as a response to the new tracks and Spec IV announcement. I've decided to move our Group C Christmas Endurance Special to Sugo. Sugo was used for the Japanese home series (JSPC). And I've already selected 1991 Championship round. The Sugo Inter 500 Miles. I'll cut this one in half to a 250. Also Sugo on the way. Motegi in the works and who knows maybe Okayama too. I've decided to wait on the Super GT league. Will do either a Hypercar or LMP1 league for 2027.
