The S.T.D. Racing series is a Lemans style series that will be holding races every Sunday at around 3:00 PM eastern standard time in my lounge. Our goal is to create a friendly and clean racing environment that gives drivers the opportunity to have an enjoyable time on the track without the dirty style of racing you find in everyday lobbies.

We the founders (PSN user names)
S tarciller
T ytyhot
D racariothewolf

Are trying to find clean racers interested in lemans style class racing with 2 GT classes and 2 Prototype classes. Mics and wheels will not be required as we will welcome anybody as long as you can race cleanly and not cause problems within the group.

-------------------------------------------------

We also have a strict no modded cars or parts rule, you are not allowed to use racing supersofts nor any other modded parts.

I might be interested in this, when you say 3pm, what time zone are you in?

Might be to early for me, but car spec's and a potential track list would be good,

We are still deciding on the tracks but the cars specs are HP and KG with some minor restrictions and are as follows. The restrictions can change because we would like to make every car in a certain class even in performance.

GT2- must be at least 1100 KG, at most 700 HP.

GT1- must be at least 1000 KG, at most 900 HP.

LMP2- must use the stock turbo the cars comes with, at least 900 KG, must be LM prototype.

LMP1- at most 1000 HP, Must be LM prototype.

This is a rough outline of what the restrictions will be like and can still change.

ok cool, I wont be participating full time, hopefully you get a good turn out, I might join for one or two odd events but cannot commit full time,

I can't do full time either but I'd take part in some.

Thank you two for your partial commitment could you both add me on PSN? What do you think about this the LMP1 and LMP2 go in one race then GT1 and GT2 in another so we can have two big races all in one day??

One more thing I'm removing the GT3 class so we can have more dense classes.

I'd put all classes on the track at once, that's how real sports car racing is.
I sent you the request

Ok I accepted

My friend gave me the idea and was like wow then if someone wanted to race in both LMP and GT they could and the classes wouldn't just be 4 people per class it would be 8 instead. But whatever the citizens want. :P

Do you have an idea of what class you would like to race in?

I also have a friend who might want to take part. I'll ask him next time I see him.
As for my class possibly GT1...

K
For the GT classes could we use any cars that fit the regs or would it be only race cars/only street cars?

Sorry to ask all these questions, but approximately how long would the races be?
And what will the tire ware/fuel set to?

Il answer any question you ask anytime so don't hesitate to ask.

We are planning for the races to be at least an hour in length maybe 2 hours for places like le sarthe. That's why I haven't put the laps for each track yet i need to figure out how long it takes to do a lap so I can make the races last an hour.

Tire wear and fuel will be on normal for all races.

From what we learned with the WEC is that people actually do have vehicle preferences, we thought about running 4 classes with it too, but its quite hard to manage, but if designed correctly would work brilliant, car list idea,

P1,
Audi R8 05
Audi R8 01
Pug 908

P2
Audi R10
Pescarolo Pug
Pescarolo Hybride

GTE Pro
Corvette C5R
Viper GTSR
Audi R8 LMS
Zonda LM

GTE AM
BMW M3 GTR
RX-8 LM
Corvette ZR1 RM
Diablo GT1

Are these cars going to be unmodified? And what about the 787B, or is this for fairly modern cars?

Well the 787B would be classified as a Group C car, Its your series mate, Just suggesting a car list that would be easy to balance to each category at modern spec's, You could go with a Group C class as LMP1 and LMP cars as LMP2, GT1 cars as GTE Pro and Classic le mans cars as GTE AM,

I like the idea alot but do you have an idea of tuning restrictions? Because I know a ZR1 RM maxed out can keep up with a C5-R.

Well obviously you would have to balance them, using power and weight restrictions,

I'm going to ask the other founders If they like the idea if they do then we will use your idea for the series.

For obvious reasons all cars you choose will have to balanced to a specific level, so going of the initial idea, you would balance the speed for the LMP1 cars, then a lower speed for LMP2 cars, then adjust for GTE cars,

HP and weight limit, the PP system is not accurate at all,

HP and weight limit, the PP system is not accurate at all,

I have found a flaw with the HP and weight system though. I took out the Honda weider using the old GT2 restrictions around a lap at Daytona road course and was as fast as a dodge GTS-R and it was using the old GT1 restrictions. It may just be the track though.

The viper even had a setup made just for that track on it at the time.

Hence why the power needs to be balanced on a super speedway, make a generic set up for all cars at a base power and weight, then add/ take power until all cars achieve the same speed to the cars they are suppose to compete against, then go to a small handling track and add/ subtract weight until they achieve the same lap time,
