S2000 Lap Times

After searching and not finding anything specific, I thought I'd open a thread seeking some fast S2 times to see how I measure up. I'm currently running Honda S2000 '04 on Deep Forest Raceway. Fastest time so far is 1'09.019 on R5 tires. Feel free to post times for other tracks using the same car, and maybe after I see some interest I'll post my settings. Beyond that just try to squeeze out as much grunt as you can

Car Rules :
- GT4, GT mode, Deep Forest/Mid-Field free session
- R5 tires ( no soft or super soft, no hard or super hard ...nothing else RM )
- no hybrids or any other kind of cheating
- no wall riding, and always at least 2 wheels ( or their vertical projection ) on the road. Concrete areas after rumble are no go.
- Honda S2000 '04 car, any upgrade, any setting compliant with rules above


Other Details :
- I'll update the board ( at worst ) once a week
- After a week (or two) I'll rotate in in a new track, and remove an old one. This may be based on participant vote

So, is this a maxed out S2000?
IS it one of the tuner cars or straight of the Honda lot?
Is this GT3 or GT4?

Sounds interesting. The S2k is one of the best handling cars in the game (GT3 and GT4).
However, a couple of years back, I found that S2k's aren't equal. There is a thread somewhere in the archives of a GT3 comparo of S2k's...


edit: I went and found the thread I was talking about and bumped it to the top. (it was 4 years ago).

This is a maxed out stock S2 from the honda lot (non type-v) in GT4

Does "maxed out" include a wing? Nitrous?

What's the rules. Standard OLR? And what about the concrete areas on the outside of the rumbles (eg area around the first tunnel and the last turn). Are they part of the track or not?

Wing is okay... but no nitrous. The concrete is no go either (it takes the fun out of that turn). OLR rules are in effect.


I saw that Mid-Field seems to be a track of choice for time attacks, so I ran these 3 laps before getting some rest (it's 3:40a right now). These were sequential laps ran in practice mode, same car/setup on R5 tires.

Lap 1: 1'09.816
Lap 2: 1'08.314
Lap 3: 1'07.628

Can't find a Honda S2000 '04 at my dealer. Could find a S2000 '03 though, so I took her for a spin. Pretty hard to guess if it's the same car as you're thinking of as you info's seem a little sparse.

Fully modded and with fresh oil, I got her up to 464hp.

First laps at Midfiled gave:

I assume the rules are the sames as for Deep Forest. Concrete in the tunnels outside the rumbles are NOT track?

Going to give Deep Forest a go now.


And a little friendly advise, vaektor. If you edit your first post, and gather all the race info's in it and set up a little leaderboard, I'm sure more racers will paticipate in your challenge. 👍

All my laps was driven with R5 tyres at stated in your first post.
R5's are RSS or racing supersoft. Agree?

And are we racing the S2000 '04 or the S2000 '03?

It apears to me that r5 stated as rm would mean this is for gt3? anyway too much confusion for sure.

Just ran about 5 laps at midfield with an 03 fully moded on r5 or rss in gt4

So I could gage myself against Niels anyway some clarification of this thread would be cool.

Bleh. Had health and life crisises come up and now I'm back find my old thread a total mess. Time to bring it back, GT5 Style! I want to host a S2k race online with GT5. If folks are still interested we can pick days/tracks. HP cap will probably be 350hp...

As an S2000 enthusiast I'd be interested in this if I'm not preoccupied at the time. Also to me..the closer to stock the vehicle the better. (retains more of its natural character).
