Does anybody feel that the stock standard S2000 is very tail happy? Whenever I steer abit to the left or right and the car just swings, at first I thought I was just adjusting to a steering wheel, switching from ds3 but now after 5 weeks I still couldn't handle that car, and it happens to all S2000 including the Amuse Road version, can't imagine what it would be like to drive the Amuse GT1 Turbo.

Does anybody in the forum own or drive a S2000 real life? Maybe you can share some opinion. Cheers

You'll love the GT1 Turbo. Maybe you're heavy on the throttle? I personally love the S2s in the game.

No, it's not the type of oversteer that happens when you accelerate too hard on 2nd gear or something, the car just swings its tail like a dog everytime i steer a little abit

I have driven the normal S2000 and the S2000 GT1 Turbo.

It is not tail happy.

I would think you are going into a corner too fast with crappy tires on and you are just starting to oversteer it.

In real life the s2k is very tail happy I've seen many guys on track get the rear end to come loose. The key to driving it is to anticipate the oversteer and correct it before that happens. When exiting a corner I'm always thinking the rear end may come loose. Hope this helps :)

I think I was CS or SH, whatever tyre the car comes with.

I guess I need more practice

I could drive the RUF RGT pretty well which is RR and they are both pretty light but nothing like the S2000

The S2000 does tend to lose the rear before the front. I had a 2003 and the first time I drove it I had the rear start to break loose on a tight bend. Fortunately I eased off the throttle and the rear tucked back in. I found I could change the cornering response with small changes in throttle.

You mean in real life? that would be quite scary on the road

I've got my road version dialed in tight. Yes, when I first gave it a run stock it was a handful. The Turbo handles much better.

Road Version camber: 2.0 front 1.5 rear

This is a start for you to try...

I drive a 2007 S2000 and the one it GT5 is pretty close. The stock comfort soft tires should be sports hard IMO. The tires in the game squeal and break loose at much slower speeds than the real tires do.

And no the AP2 S2000's are not particularly tail happy (I've never come close to spinning mine, including many track days). However, just like any rear wheel drive sports car you don't want to mash the gas while turning because the back end will come around. The AP1's (1999-2003) were known for being tail happy though.

The S2k Turbo is a little tail happy on the throttle sometimes, but I will say that sliding it is very easy to correct, which makes it a good drifter in the long run.

Damn I just complemented it FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU-

I think it's just up to the fact that you are not used to the wheel. The stock S2000 can be tricky but it's not the hardest car to tame for sure. Are you using driving assists? What tires are you using?

I was running the premium s2000 with about 270hp last night to get into a 450pp room..... that thing is sweet. Yeah it will break loose but you've got to be brutal with it even on comfort softs.

Driven smoothly it's one of the cars that seems to need small steering inputs and reminds me of playing GPL.

Hmm, I never had that problem. I also ran on comfort tires during my early A-Spec adventures without adjusting my suspension. Maybe you just to get use to the wheel? You can practice drifting first with comfort hards. After a few session, you should be able to drive most cars because your reflex will be much faster.

Maybe it's a weight shift thing. Try to be smoother with inputs. S2000 is fairly stable at stock or lightly tuned, but it has this funny oversteer at certain point.

About tires: When comparing lap times to real life the comfort mediums and comfort softs tend to be closest to real life high performance street tires. The feeling difference can come from the higher center of gravity with full tank of fuel in online or just the lack of real life feedback like g-forces in general.

Will try that, thanks

Haha I remember your thread about how much you hated it!

It's been about 5 weeks now with G27, ABS 1, everything off except active steering now at mild for about 2 weeks, before it was strong, the car is Amuse S2000 Street Version '04 with sports hard, stock standard only oil change

I'm really bad at drifting since I switch to wheels, I'm quite used to wheel now I guess, I always drive with everything off only ABS 1 and active steering on mild, I could handle other powerful FR cars like SLS for example just this S2000 makes me scratch my head.

You say you have no problem with a RUF but you can't handle a S2k? Same tyres?
I would suggest tying to find a tune 'round here or be smoother on the brakes/accelerator/wheel. Once you've figured out the S2k, try the Oulium Spirra, the S2000 will seem like a cake walk after you drive that thing fast :sly:

The RUF RGT is really nice to drive, on sports hard, I love driving a car stock just to know how it feels like to drive in real life. Will keep an eye on the spirra
