Saab 9-3X and 9-5 to be rolled out this year

Is this just a part of GM's plan to make the brand into a worthwhile asset for sale in the near future? If the 9-5 is actually a pretty decent car this time around, it'll certainly help boost the brand's value. Or is there a chance that GM is looking to make something out of the brand for themselves?
 
Boo! Go for 15 years! At least tie Honda's record.
 
The 9-5 move is a bit surprising, as I was still counting on that to come out at least another year from now... Furthermore, the delay on the next 9-3 (Epsilon-II) is interesting as well. Either way, I think GM is attempting to speed up the product timetable to make sure that Saab can stand on its own, and therefore, be easier to push off later on.
