Has anyone tried it out? It was released today. I am currently using now and it seems pretty cool.

Being a Windows user, I have tried to stay away from Apple products on my PC. But after reading a review earlier, I thought I would try it out. I had Safari 3 on my laptop, but I didn't like it that much.

Check out:

for more info on it. Let's hear what you think!

I'm using it right now. It seems faster. Its faster than Firefox or apple is messing with my head again.

I'm downloading it right now for Mac. I've always been very happy with Safari (except Safari for Windows :yuck:), so I'm hoping the new features make browsing even better.

EDIT: Using it now. I don't like the look of the tabs at the top of the window, it doesn't suit Safari and the top sites feature seems kinda pointless. Other than that, it seems fine so far. Also, I have to add - Why do Apple need to add coverflow to everything? Ugh.

I picked up safari several months ago as I was having trouble with Firefox. the first update from my original DL version rendered it kind of useless. if you grabbed a long pulldown menu, it'd crash. I have updated mine again, but haven't tested it yet. yes, it's perceptivly faster than Firefox, to a point. then it starts acting up. remember, Apple Brand products are not used to dealing with popups, spam, and Spyware.

if your wondering, I have one of every browser except Google Chrome (part of its original licence agreement had a phrase which most people read as "we Pwn anything you put online with this")

Works great here – I’m amazed at how fast it is (sometimes I don’t even see the drawing stage). Only problem is that it breaks Keywurl. :(

Also, I have to add - Why do Apple need to add coverflow to everything? Ugh.
Actually, this is the one instance I’ve found where I actually like Coverflow. When you go through your history menu, a lot of times (due to lazy webmasters) you see:

… which is not helpful at all. So, having Coverflow allows you to distinguish between those same-titled pages.

[edit]: YES!!! Glims allows keyword searching (it’s just hidden if you don’t bother trying to edit the search engines).

I don't use Safari as my main browser I use Camino so the only time I will upgrade to Safari 4 is when its public not beta. I do like the look of cover-flow history though, that would be really neat.

Well Im using it now and already run into a bug, Hotmail interface wont delete items from the inbox or anywhere else for that matter, I've reported it to Apple.

So far I like the Coverlfow history it works really well. Im not sure about the tab situation tho, if it was below the address bar then that would be much better. Not much faster than Camino either.

Just upgraded to the Beta and I hate to tab bar. Seems they have taken it in a IE 7 direction with the file and settings thing at the side. Other than that page loading is alot faster.

I'm on Windows Version.

EDIT: Now I've changed my Windows Theme the tabs look alot better. Grown on me quickly now.

Reminds me very much of Chrome - specifically the upward-facing tabs and the visual history page (which I like very much). Haven't used it enough to notice and speed changes, but my previous Safari was pretty fast to begin with.

Going to bump this as Safari 5 has just been launched. Considerably faster than Firefox and a noticeable difference over my previous browser, Opera. I'm loving the Reader feature.
