A train approaches. You stand at a set of points which forks into 2 lines. You’d seen a group of children toying with the switch on the points but they left as you approached.
One line leads on to the next city. One leads to an unfinished bridge - doom for all on board.
There are no visual clues to indicate which position the points must be in to deliver the train down the safe line. You do know for a fact that it was in the ‘safe’ position before the children switched it several times. You don’t know how many times.
