I've bought a Saleen S7, painted it AMG Matte Grey, and fully tuned it. It looks mint, pushes about 247mph, and leaves a lot of cars in the dust on SSR7/Circuit de la Sathe (No chicanes). But, I have an annoying problem, the gear changes are painfully slow, if somebody could tell me how to mend this problem without affecting the top speed, I'd be very greatful. Thanks 👍

You can't really, the main thing you can do is the "tranny trick", which makes first gear much longer and subsequently put the other gears closer together, which results in quicker shifts without sacrificing top speed.
If you're unfamiliar with the trick here goes.
Reset trans to default
Then set Top Speed slider to a low number
Then lower final gear to increase actual top speed (You cannot touch the top speed slider once you change the final drive, or it will reset your gears and you'll have to start all over again)

You'll have to play around with it a bit to get the numbers exactly where you want them, but it'll be the best thing you ever did for your car.

Thanks for the tip bro, I will try that, sounds like it could work. I'll have to try this on my Enzo and MP4-12C, as they both have slow gear changes for the amount of power they produce.

Well…That's not everything you need to do for the tranny trick.
1. As said, set top speed slider to the lowest number
2. Put final gear has high as you can get it to go
3. Set ratios
4. Move final gear down.

That is the tranny trick :D

Ask RJ if that's the best way. ;)

To push the tranny trick a step further, try this.

Set final to 4.895
Set top speed to 149 MPH

Set the following:

1st: 2.496
2nd: 1.799
3rd: 1.422
4th: 1.174
5th: 1.000
6th: 0.874

Then set the final to your liking. I created these gears using my gear ratio spreadsheet, and they're about as close as I can wrangle them. You'll see both 1st and 6th are at the absolute limit of adjustable range.

He uses this method too, you know? And it's also used in drag racing, so it must have some credentials :D
I know exactly what he does for his personal cars, he's said before.
At least after what he said I have to assume he still does it, MafiaBoy and the rest do it too...They haven't told you, seriously?

Well, RJ did the 'slightly longer than normal' tranny trick for the Enzo, he did it for his FF Summer shootout entry and....I'm struggling to think of more. Mafiaboy uses that trick too, I know for a fact he uses it, he even gave me one of his gearbox settings and it could only be done by using the longer tranny trick.
