Ok. Let me say that I seriosuly had my doubt about this car. For some reason i was expecting a lot of power with little handeling, like all american muscles... Well anyway it looked enough like a supercar so i give it a go, i mean with the absence of ferraris and lamborghinis this poor car that ive heard been called a supercar could be given a shot. So buy with one upgrade, black rims, go black rim club. So anyway my choice of track was citta di aria. I though i could really test the cars handling and such. So off i was to make a technically journey of twists and turns in the long but extremely graceful car. Let me say that to me this car felt a tad lighter than what i had expected so that was a big plus on my little chart of doubts. So i started off in a state of normal drving, you know right side of the road speed limit, not that there are any but lets say 30-50 range. During this period of 2-4 laps i thought the car drove extremely well, the handling was responsive and the brakes we great, and the torque was amazing to getting up the tight and hilly section before the finish. So here is where i discover the true potential of this beast, which is realy a story in it self. So here i am putting along when my mother burst in the room. I was still in -game world- so i got scared and slammed the accelerator, and like that i was off. 50-140 in a flash, screaming through this little ocean city like a banshee. Here comes the corner, which a hard slam of the brakes im back down to 30 costing through a more than 90 degree corner. Up hill i go no approaching the next technicall up hill section, by now i have gone all out it is now just one of those spur of the moments, in the zone, mad dash for the finish, like 4 laps into a hot lap frenzy. I come up the hill at like 100 and immedately slam the brakes, i feel the bakc end slip out just enough for me to get tightly around the corner and floor through the next, slipping and jumping my way, with each bump the rear jumps and the tires hiss. Finally i crest the the top and churn my way past the finish, absolutly oblivious of laps time, just wanting to duel he road again with my body in this best as if we were one......

Ok thats my little review i guess maybe it could me moved to the racing reviews or whatever that forum is. So this is my first one an critism welcome. Oh and i know i could ahve been more specific with better information but i wanted to use alittle more discription so u felt liek u were there. Oh and any disagrrements or agreements you would like to say abouyt the car would be nice.

Im not european or anything but cheers.

Maybe this should be in the race report forum. BTW this is a great review about the Saleen S7 and I agree with you that this is a great car to drive. 👍

I'm driving in a GTR league and I initially drove the S7 - yeah it had great downforce and speed to match F550 and Lamborghini HOWEVER it eats the rear-end tires/tyres like nothing else i've ever seen hehe.
Don't know if it does the same in GT4, don't own the car yet.

Great review 👍

I think the S7 is a good car but i found it hard to control without racing tyres. You were using sports right?

Yes. I havent really driving any other of the supercars, if you will, in the game. Such as the zondas and stuff. It really made me feel like it was a super car and it exceeded my expectations.

Oh and yea the rear tires to get chewed pretty bad. I mean its a pretty powerful car and it tends to bounce if you dont have enough downforce, which causes those tires to get ruined due to poor traction after the rear stops jumping.

Agree, I love this car. My friend and I had a 10 lap race around Le Sarthe II with tyre wear and fuel on. I had an S7 and he was in a Zonda (forgotten the exact name, most powerful road version) On hard sports tyres he just couldn't keep up through the twisties, and even with a pitstop I won by a comfortable 15 seconds. :D:tup:

El Gigante
In my opinion the Zonda is better. Sorry guys

hehe, yes the Zonda C12S 7.3 is better. If your friend couldn't keep up through the twisties it is because he can't drive it well.

Nice review though. Are you really that scared of your mom?

i personally dislike the s7. it doesn't handle well at all, i don't know what version of the game you got, but the super license test on special stage 5 saw me banging into walls and failing for like an hour. i used racing tires to beat the s7 races but i can't recall how the handling was there, being as it was well over a month ago and i haven't touched the car since. it's basically another american muscle car with a cool looking frame. i don't know though, i might be speaking out my ass, but that's my opinion

I think that was a excellent review and the s7 is one hell of a car. I think to many people bash on the handleing of american cars. Yes most european cars do handle better then american cars, but they also have a much higher price tag to go with it most of the time.. but im not going to get into a arguement about it.. good review.

That's because in GTR, that thing puts ****loads of power down on those rear wheels. The R-GT is only a winner if the driver knows its advantages.

Actually, the Saleen stops pretty decently at speeds under and up to 100 mph. Over that, you need to brake early, in ANY car.

Having driven all of the exotics, http://gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=69127 , I'd say the Saleen's advantages are good power, relatively good traction (at stock power) except in first gear, a grunty engine with a fat power curve, perfect for the non-perfect driver, as you don't have to downshift as often, and good handling. As compared to the Zonda, it's not as pointy or as planted and feels somewhat heavier, but they're both good cars. In an even race though, the Zonda should win, whether the race is on a speed course or a twisty course.

Well first this isnt a comparison between zondas and S7s. Second no im not scared of my mom i was IN THE ZONE. And im not saying that the S7 has great handeling but in what my expectations were i must say that i ahve to give it cred thats all.

while i agree with his opinion...it couldve definitely been stated in a less third grade way

the car understeers under full throttle (when stock and asm/tcs off). either give it a 40 weight ballast on the front or trail brake...

This car is one of the most powerfull in the game, when you put a supercharger on it!

828 ft.lb of torque! Almost nothing can out pull it.

With Racing Med tyres, it handles a lot better than with Sport tyres.
