The car was in its seventh season of competition and in 2006, Oreca was chosen to prepare brand new S7-R chassis with upgrades under the supervision of Saleen engineers William Tally, Derk Hartland, Randall Speir, Matthew W. Wright and William Kreig, with the aim of making them more competitive. This would prove beneficial as the team would end up earning two victories in the Le Mans Series and winning the 2006 FFSA GT Championship. This would add not only the completion version of the car, but would also add a car built and run by Oreca and of course another beautifully decked out Playstation car.

Engine: 6.9L Naturally Aspirated V8
Horsepower: 600 hp
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
Weight: 1150Kg
Drivetrain: RWD

........???
What the...look at the sponsor's logo on its nose - why isn't this in the game already??

Because Sony sponsor/have sponsored literally hundreds of race cars, and one sponsorship deal doesn't mean a tie with another game or game developer.

I really like this car, I think it looks awesome and I did press like, but I ask myself, "Do I really want another outdated GTLM in GT6/GT7 or would I rather have a newer GTLM car."

Well there is clearly interest for "Outdated" GT cars that were not in the games to begin with (The Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT being one).

Also, this car is actually GT1.

..................Boo. :(
Small corrections: sponsored by PlayStation brand within Sony, not Sony itself - kinda like Peugeot 908 HDI sponsored by XBox brand, not the parent company MS.

Nope, they would still seek the parent company to make a deal.

....................they would approach SCE, Sony Electronics, or Sony Financial? Any ideas? ;)
Seriously tho, "Team Oreca" had/still has mutual relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment, thus PlayStation brand being promoted, not its Experia phones nor its line of insurance companies.

I would guess SCE, who would then contact Financial  as the PS system is maintained and developed by the SCE branch(I think). But then they probably need to check with financial group to see if they can afford it :) ... i dont know, but Im fairly certain this is how their process works :)

Well when they add an outdated car there's usually others to race with but between about '04 and '10 GT(non-SGTs) and prototypes, It's pretty much a dead zone.... honestly the entirety of 04 to 10 is pretty much a dead zone lol. If they were to add the S7R though, I would like to see more of its competitors in too, like the 360 GT and the 430 GT :) and for completeness and because they drive like GTs QM players, lets add the 458 GTE to that list as well :)

edit: I did it again. argh... I need to pay more attention when Im replying to threads!
