wowzers! do you like the saleen s7? i love it! just been racing it at sarthe I in the manufacturers cup, and it is a right laugh! didnt think id win at the start, because i was all over the shop (i was driving it stock), but eventually i won.
anyway, has anyone noticed how hard it is to spot those damn chicanes at sarthe I? i drive in-car, and its even harder when your stuck behind an s7! can anyone shed any light on why they were included? i find it easier without the chicanes.
with the chicanes included, im forever standing on the brakes hoping, no wishing my car would stop, but it wont! i either end up spinning out big time or flying headlong into the arnco's or the tyre walls!

still, the saleen @ sarthe is a fantastic race - give it a go!

racing tyres and brake balance controller. make the brakes stronger :p

and i can spot the chicanes :P but i guess the gear thing helps alot

Reason why the chicanes are there?
BECAUSE THEY REALLY ARE THERE!

(Didn't mean to yell....but they were added about 10 years ago to stop drivers from turning themselves to mush)

Watch the left barrier for the distance markers to the first chicane, and the right barrier for markers leading up to the second chicane.

Yes, ofcourse it's easier without them, theres less for you to do, tbh I never have any problems with the chicanes, I think you just need a little practice and you'll be flying round them in no time.

Yeah, I don't really have any trouble with them either, and actually find it easier than Sarthe II because the computer cars slow down a LOT more than they need to, so they're a great place to make up time.

yeah, i know that! dont you find it easier without them?

Actually... no.

I'm usually racing underpowered cars. So I generally lose time on the straights that I have to make up in the corners. But the monster straight on Sarthe II is too much to make up.

So... Thank God for drafting and the chicanes  :D

P.S. learning to use the distance markers and how to aim your nose is key here. It's a great place to get an extra second or two on the competition!

its actually easy to take the chianes, and as it was mentioned before me....once you get used to them and start to see where to break and where to accelerate, you'll go through them really fast.

in the right chicane look to the right side of the track and when you hit the braking zone you'll get a little glimpse of the sand on the right side of the turn thats when you start braking. for the left one is the same just look at a 45% angle from where the turn should be and you'll see the sand again . 👍

I had some trouble seeing the chicanes but I used the in game options to adjust the Colour, brightness and Saturation levels. They easily to see now but still frightning to see them race up to you at 350 km/h :nervous:
