Noticed this a few days ago:

Did the b-spec seasonal on SSR 5, 500 PP.

Used the golf VI R with round 360 HP on 1360 kg, then i noticed my Z4 M got 500 PP too, but with round 400 HP and 1300 kg.

So how can this be fair? A lighter car with more HP gets the same PP then the other one......btw the Z4 is much faster then the golf R.

So there are cars that are very much overpowered at some PP levels i think

EDIT: Thanks for that spelling info 👍

What do you mean by OP? And just a heads up but your title ("hughe") is spelt wrongly.

For your question the PP system in GT5 is inaccurate, you can get a massive time difference with cars that have equal PP.

The Z4M is already considered slow for it's PP range, can't imagine what the Golf R is like.

Actually, the R VI is actually a fun car among the mid-weak cars.
But I despise FF cars so the Scirocco gets the boot to the head.

PP are not determined by max hp. It is more likely determined by the area under the hp curve as well as weight. It seems to be a measure of a cars ability to accelerate not its top speed or handling.

Just a heads up, but "spelt" is a type of wheat, it is not a replacement for 'spelled". :dunce: And it should be "spelled wrong", not "wrongly".... I'd think you would at least have a basic understanding of grammar if you are going to go around trying to correct people.

The Scirocco is actually pretty much the fastest FF car in stock condition. (not counting tuned or race cars).

It also handles very nicely for a FF-layout and has a great top-speed. (unlike the Golf which supposedly has the same engine)

Can't say anything about tuning possibilities, because I usually don't.

Just a heads up, but "spelt" absolutely can be used as a replacement for "spelled." You know, because more people use the English language than just people who live in North America, and everywhere else that is the more acceptable spelling of the word. One would think that someone who bothered to make a post purely to point out the irony of a post would at least take the time to make sure it was actually ironic. Or that the person you were taking up arms against hadn't already been thanked by the OP for the info.

Now are we done making asses out of ourselves by being hypocritical grammar Nazis?

In regards to the topic at hand, the PP system is nothing more than a rough guide of a car's performance. There are many things that it does not take into account (suspension setups, transmission ratios and efficiency, LSD settings) because the benefits to them can not be quantitatively measured; and even ignoring that at certain tracks certain cars will be inherently better performers than other ones.

I think you mean "incorrectly spelled", not spelled w-r-o-n-g. I'd think you would at least have a basic understanding of grammar if you are going to go around trying to correct people. BTW both spellings (spelt/spelled) are in current usage in the English language.

On topic, I have no idea how the PP system works. But I do know that some cars are regularly used in time trials because the PP system works in their favour. Just look at the leaderboard of the current timetrials.

... and English isn't the native language in Singapore so...

it's because the Golf is AWD, for some reason the PP system takes huge points away for 4 drive wheels

Isn't it also about it's cornering abilities than just power and weight?

Yes. My V8 Vantage is fully tuned to 961 hp but it is heavy and turns like a rocking chair and therefore, has 565pp. But, it will destroy everything on any straightaway at that level.

Just a spoiler jumps the pp up to 595pp. That's 30pp for a spoiler. Also the pp goes UP when you ADD weight.

I just keep the pp down at 565pp which makes for some epic races. :sly:
