Almost every afternoon I'm unable to reach the site. The connection times out. It only happens in the afternoon, and it happens almost every day. Friday is a sure thing. So I'm using this (most likely) narrow window of opportunity to post the question. Anyone else have this problem?
 
Yes, I've experienced this problem too (didn't say anything because I thought Jordan already knew about it). It is a rather annoying problem...
 
You guys think it's annoying? I'm the one who has to restart the server (almost) every day, and I can't figure out what the problem is. I was actually shopping around for a new server while you started this thread.

It happens to me all the time! If it doesn't stop, I'm going to quit trying! I'll leave the planet forever and ever! Your server thingy ma bobber sucks Jordan! :mad:



But really, what do you think the problem is? Your server provider can't be all that bad if you chose them.
 
I have noticed that it does seem to bog down in the afternoon. I would bet that's when there's the most traffice. Evening in Europe, and mid afternoon here in the US.

Hope things work out with the server Jordan.

yes, i think Der Alta is right....i never get this problem...i log in the mornings mostly, in the UK...its quiet here at that time...not a lot of users on the board....the forum is nice and fast....mind you, i am accessing it with a Fiber optic T3 line on a dedicated server...

very very quick....
 
Same here, about the same time as in England (we are 1 hour ahead or behind), but it is nice and quiet here the whole day, and no problems whatsoever ! Must be bandwidth or total users connected related ... I'm on a 512 K to Brussels 1st, but it seems very fast the whole day for me ... and no issues with postings.

It's not a brand, it's just a generic server from EV1Servers.

But really, what do you think the problem is? Your server provider can't be all that bad if you chose them.

Like I said, I really can't tell what the problem is (otherwise, I'd take care of it right away)! This is a great company I'm working with, and if I was a proper server administrator I doubt this problem would be happening.

There's a few different leaks in PHP 4.2.2 which has been fixed in 4.3.3.. Just a thought though

That could be a problem, I'll check into it.
 
Yep, It slowed to a crawl for me about 20 minutes ago. It's been happening often though. The worst occurred when I was uploading the USGP 2003 Pictures I had taken two weeks ago. It wouldn't even load for several hours.

Hm, can't say that I have, come to think about it. Quite possibly it's only with the American servers?

There is only one server, located in Houston, TX.

And when it comes back online all my subscribed threads have been deleted. I don't think that is supposed to happen.

The threads located here? Do all of them completely disappear? Are you sure the "Show threads from" option is not hiding them?
