I was surfin around MK's prog for some cars to pop in, and I was impressed by the lambo, stratos (both of em), the 3 really really expensive miatas (whats up with that?), and somthing caught my eye. Sample ____. WHA?!

I saw some samples in parts categories before too. What are these things...? (Also, wheres this Vauxhall thing that I been hearin about?)

One more thing...In the US ver, I thought the p001 had its name changed to one of those F###/_ codes...yet thers a p001 and 002 in MK's...odd...any explenations!?

Oooo Oooo, or what about other secret cars that I havent discovered? Oooo Oooo...ok Ill stop asking questions (for now...)

There are 10 "sample" cars, which are, I assume, test-bed cars for the programmers. The only use they have is that one of them doesn't have a body, and can escape most tracks without trying, and one of them has an outrageous suspension which can be set from 55mm-250mm (although you may as well ignore it and insert your own hybrid values for ride height).

The three Vauxhalls (Calibra, Astra, VX220) are essentially identical to the three Opels (Calibra, Astra, Speedster) and are in the list if you look closely. The Speedster is actually a better car stock than the VX220, so I wouldn't worry too much.

The P001 and P002 in mk's programme will become the F094/S and F688/S in an NTSC game. However, the bodies are slightly different. It would appear that the body codes appear in the same location on the disc in each region, but are slightly adapted for PAL.

The sample cars are there for certain reasons, a few of them are actually the TVR Cerbera, which never got finished. The first one was an F1 test model. A few are rsxs which were just used for suspension and color testing for all of the cars. #4 I believe is the only one with the body that locks up the game. None are important to have in your garage really. The sample 1 does have an engine that can not be found in any existing car in the game.

AS for the Vauxhalls, aside from the logos and graphics, they are basically the same. I chose to put the Vauxhall Name on my garage cars, just to have something different.

Since you are most likely running the North American NTSC disc, I will point out a few "hidden" cars on that disc that you might be interested in.

Nomad Diablo GT
Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Mspec
Lancia Stratos
Lancia Stratos Rally Car
Porsche 911 GT3

First car I popped intp my garage to play with was the diablo. Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but my forward gears went backwards and my reverse gear went forward. I was trying to zoom around midfeild in reverse, but it didnt work to well. I then realized that for some reason my gear ratios were like, 64.somthin...I just moved my autogears one way and then back, and I could move forward. Reverse was still messed.

I got the skyline and the two Stratoses. I hafta say that the Stratos looks very nice lapping around Smokey Mountain...

I havent tried the 911, but whats with the skyline and those expensive miatas? They cant even take a turbo...theyre worth a lot (the miata I had didnt even have a value) but theyre slower than the cheap ones?! Bah!

I guess I will hafta test out the 911...

Ok, if you haven't fixed the reverse problem, just go into the .ini and edit line 240 to something like 3001. Or if you are coding it on post again and I will find a value for you.

The $10,000,000 cars, just were never put into the game anyway, so it didn't really matter what the value for them was set at.

The 911 is going to be a project for you, since there are no parts for it aside from the body and engine. Even the Chassis length is wrong. You will need to use a shorter chassis for it to match up properly.

Maybe Ill use my standard array of Viper porting balance and so on for the 911...

...but that comes after my MR PT Cruiser. It was calling to me "make me an overpowered MR car!" so thats what Im working on...

...and I just had no need to have reverse since I only did a few laps then removed them. Maybe they can come back someday, but if its as easy as just clicking around in MKs proggy, dropping in a non-hybrid just isnt as cool...Maybe if I drop the lambo body onto some type of an F1 beater...no, thats what the 911 will be...yeah...

ive tried 3 diff chassis, and the ruf chassis was the worst, now i got a nice fitting chassis on there thats lighter and looks better 💡 :D

Hrm, maybe I recall incorrectly, but I know that I got a chassis on that 911 that makes the wheels fit perfectly. I'm stuck at work so I can't check on it.

But there is somethin out there that makes the wheels fit in the wheel wells perfectly. I thought that it was another RUF. Check it out please?

Well the 911 chassis on the game can be fit with any of the 2300mm chassis for a perfect look, just be careful that you don't go to light. With a chassis that short, the car will tend to oversteer quite a bit. The Lupo Cup car chassis is a good choice for the 2300mm.

Well here is the thing, the chassis that is on the RUF RGT is too short for that particular car, but does fit very well on the 911. Both cars seem to have had poorly fitting chassis placed on them in the game.
The RGT always will handle better if you swap the chassis out for a longer one. Longer chassis = easier to control

Is there like a weight limit you liek to set to get a decent handling car? I have noticed how you need MASSIVE amounts of downforce for those really light chassises...chassisis...cars. Think like 1000kg is a decent place to have a chassis?

Massive amounts of DF will help any car handle better, aside from the really light and short chassis, which will turn too fast, and will be hard to keep on the track. I don't like to drop below 700kg because of that problem. The only reason that the F1s can handle the super light chassis that they use is because of the extended length of their chassis. So even with the weight and added DF they still handle great. Keep in mind the extremly wide sticky tires probably help a little too, lol

Hmm...guess I was off...again...eh. One other question. How do you know how wide the tires are? I cant even figure out how tall the whels will be until you slap em on a car, load up the sharkport, load up the game, pop into the garage, and see if they stick through the hood...then go back to MKs, change it aroung......

...I need a list!!

im not sure if there is a list, but i found the easiest way to check the width of the tires your putting on is by looking at front and rear track in the specs for the car. and i normally go window shopping at the dealership looking for parts.

Just one of them has that effect. The body for #4 I think, or #6 I never remember which. Never really mattered, there is no reason to have them in your garage anyway. The cerbera body was never finished and the others can be found elsewhere. Unless you want to race with the RSX with the big color ball above it, lol.

For backwards racing cars, look at the gear ratios. It says 64 or somthin...if you change the reverse gear to about 3 in MKs and just move auto gearing around in game than the car will go forward again. Same thing happened to me with the diablo and some other ones.

As for the track width, thats pretty cool...Ill hafta play with that a bit...now theres no way to gauge the height of the wheels too is there? One more question...does the height of the wheel change the gearing performance? Ya know, bigger wheels turn more with each turn of the engine meaning higher top speed s you have to gear it down to get it to work like it did with smaller wheels......

but doesnt the ting zoom in to fit the car to the screen in things like your garage...how then do you get an acurate measurement...then small cars like the ZZII would seem to have like 25" rims, but you put em on somthing and its like little training wheels...
