As far as I know, 60GB and under had the PS2 chipset and with a rare occurance for the 80GB. Right now I'm busy trying to figure out why my slim keeps putting very light scratches in a perfect circle all the way around the disc about 1cm in.

Yeah so would I. It just got me thinking about if they did a remake and offered DLC, what would it and would you buy it kind of thing. Didn't think it needed a thread so I posted it here.

Weird I came across this thread, I just resserected my ps2 and just ordered a copy of gta san andreas and a new controller 10 minutes ago, I have 4 copies of san andreas and none of them load.

LOL that's pretty ironic lol. Yeah I have 3 copies myself of San Andreas alone XD

I was replaying through GTA IV last week and just got it in my head that I will play SA again, also found GT3 GT4 and TT superbikes and they all work.

I found it hard to go from GTA IV back to SA, but I still prefer SA over GTA IV just for the sheer amount of things to do. It's stupidly overwhelming. I just wish I didn't get that damn basketball glitch....

Do you mean where u are supposed to be able to play but cant?

If so i remember being able to play once and never again and thinking I must of been imagining it.

Yes there is a mini game in SA for basketball but according to Google, if you save the Madd Doggs mansion (which I have multiple times), the game glitches and renders basketball useless. The ball stops spawning on the court and the mini game can't be activated anymore :( However I didn't know why the ball stopped spawning until after I had saved there and looked it up (up until that point it worked fine).

Ahh I never knew it was a glitch tho, I just thought I was going crazy.
Thanks for that anyway I'll be sure not to save there when I get playing again.

Yeah no prob, theres a safehouse across the street anyways.

Which PS3 can actualy play PS2 games? I got the old 80GB one it can play PS1 games though .

On topic of if they brought Vice City and SA to PS3 as a cheap enough DLC yes I would buy it 👍.

All PS3's can play PSone games.

But SA is a PS2 game.

I have the launch-model 60GB, just for clarification, and it's still running strong. I bought it the day after Thanksgiving (so that's one week after launch) at 11am at Best Buy. I waited in line for no more than 10 minutes and security had to escort me to my car. They only had 15 units to sell - right place, right time.

That's how you do it. :sly:

I wonder if you can still get a used one online. Wouldn't doubt it.

Like I asked before, how good of a job does it upscale PS2 games? Is there any input lag like the PS1 games?

Oh sorry I didn't see the question. God of War 1 & 2 are ugly, but San Andreas looks fine. I played Blasto (PS1) and the graphics looked terrible. The PS2 Need for Speed: Most Wanted looks good on PS3.

That's about all I've played (off the top of my head) as far as non PS3 games on my unit. I can't speak to tech specifics because I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject. The PS2 games look way better than the PS1 games (but is that because PS1 games are uglier than memory thought?).

I do have a few downloaded PS1 games on my PS3 and playing them on a HDTV renders them useless because the input lag is so bad any action in game would kill the experience. However on a oldschool CRT it is fine. That's why I was wondering. Not a biggy seeing as I can't play them on my PS3 anyways though.

That's what they sold for when they first came out around here.
