I was reading the latest issue of GamePro Magazine (Oct. 2004) and there is a small article on GTA: San Andreas.

Here's the part that got me interested:

"And although Andreas will not support multiplayer online play, Rockstar didn't say there wouldn't be any online aspects"

So it seems possible that we would be able to download new content (weapons, clothing, tattoos, cars/boats/heli's/planes, etc.)

Since this is still all speculation, how would you like to see online capabilities in San Andreas used? (besides multiplayer, obviously)

I think the downloading of new uniforms, cars, etc wouldn't be too bad. The fact that there's no multiplayer doesn't bother me, as it's not really a multiplayer game. I think that theory of being able to download new uniforms, etc is a damn good theory, and I think it just might come true. Things that could be downloadable would be clothing, maybe cars, tattoos, maybe haircuts, along with other things I can't think of right now.

I hate this whole online thing. They'll start trying to exploit it by making you pay to download new things. Grrr, this whole age of making everything online annoys me because I know companies will start making minimalistic games then making you pay to download extra features etc.

You don't have to pay to download new things into games...at least none of the games that I've used online for that have asked me for $$$:

Tony Hawk's Underground: has online multiplayer+downloadable things, its free

Madden NFL 2004: has online multiplayer+downloadable things, its free

NBA Live 2004: has online multiplayer+downloadable things, its free

NBA 2K3: has online multiplayer+downloadable things, its free

The ONLY online game for PS2 that I can think of that charges money is Final Fantasy XI

I agree too!, the whole online thing annoys me!. I think if you want multiplayer **** paying for a broardband connection, whats wrong with getting a multitap and inviting some mates over?.

I don't tend to invite my mates over for a night of multiplayer gaiming on my PS2, when I play multipalyer it's online, besides I hate split screen. Each to their own but I don't know many people who have mates round to play on their PS2, X-Box, GC ect.

That wasn't my point but that's also true.

I do hate split screen (only when I'm P2) but it's not so bad I want broadband JUSt to play online.

Plus, if you think about it, Rockstar would only make multiplayer for San Andreas just like an MTA. It wouldn't be a campaign sort of thing where you do missions together, and Rockstar wouldn't have just a free mode for multiplayer, they would have a purpose. So it wouldn't be that good at all really, and you could just play MTA when SA for PC comes out.

I think it will be alot harder for them to incorporate MTA into GTA:SA -- it's a very big game, maybe too big for mta?

But, I don't play them anyway. They won't let me play Vice City, I have a burnt copy on the PC, so I can't play it on MTA. GTA 3 I can, because I bought that!...then gave it to Blake because it plays shat on my computer as my graphics card isn't the best...and I'll buy another hard drive before I buy a new graphics card...
