So me and Dad got up at about 4:45 yesterday morning and packed the cool box with Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs (we didn't open them) Kettle Chips ( ), Apples, Banana's, Cookies and some drinks. We picked my brother up in Uckfield then we made tracks to Santa Pod near Northampton. We got their about 9 in the morning.

We started off as normal with the Top Fuellers and the "Y'all ready for this" music preceding it. We had our spot on the Bank about 250 Metres down the strip. It was a great day's racing, proven by a surprising amount of wins on the Holeshot (Ie, a driver getting a quicker reaction of the line, but can have a time slower than his opponent), some records fell too.

The afternoon finals were very good with Top Fuel Dragster, Top Methanol Dragster, Pro Stock and Top Fuel bikes all very close. Britain's very own Andy Carter set a record of 4.703 for the fastest Euopean ET for a Top Fuel Dragster. Also for Britain Andy Robinson lost a chance of winning the Pro Modified as his car died at the end of his burnout, how annoying must that be! He had broken the speed record for a Pro Mod earlier with a top Speed of 228 MPH!

We also got talking about the legendary Sammy Miller a man who pushed is body to forces of 10 G in his rocket car, 0-100 in 0.3 seconds!

A great day out, I'm a bit sunburnt and feeling very rough, but nothing beats the smell of Nitro and the vibration going up through your body standing on the hill

Can you hear me, Nigel?
