On November the 3rd my parents decided to take me and my brother to Santa Pod. Santa Pod is, as many of you probably know, a drag racing strip, one of the only ones in the UK if I’m correct.
Last weekend as some may know, most of the Guy Fawkes celebrations kicked off, the event at Santa Pod was one of them. The event was called “Flame & Thunder” and as the name suggests there was flames and there was the thunder of the cars.
There were many vehicles there from Beetles to Top Fuel dragsters. All of them being simply astonishing, I’d never seen something move that fast before.
As some may know, this was also my first outing with my new camera, a Fuji Finepix F40fd. This was a big move up from my previous camera which was a simple non digital film one. I considered the event as almost being the ultimate testing ground for the camera, there was fast moving objects, sunsets, scenery, low light areas, fireworks basically the lot.
As you can see I was experimenting with the camera so things didn’t come out perfect, however they should be fine for next time. I must also mention that the pictures have been suitably decreased in size from the full 3500 X **** pixels to make it fit better, if you want the full sizes of any of them then please feel free to contact me and I will try to sort it out for you. There are also videos which I know are a bit shaky but as I said I’d never had a digital camera before so this is all new for me!
