I debated whether to get a Garmin GPS unit or a radar detector for my car. I went with the radar detector because I mainly drive the same routes everyday and I didn't think a GPS would benefit me that much. Those rare times when I don't know where I will be going, I'll just look it up on google maps. I think I made a good choice as the radar detector is much more useful day to day.
 
Not a big nav fan here.

Of course, when my car was built, GPS and nav systems were something that you didn't have unless you were flying an F-15...
