Save game and continues in series races

Hi,

I have read various tips and pointers about how to get the prize car you really want etc.. It seems they all focus around saving the game prior to finishing the last race of the series, then if you don't get the prize car you want, just load up and continue to re-do the last race. I am sure I have tried saving mid series, then quitting the series and re-loading and it doesn't let me back to where I was. I have to start the series again. AM I doing something wrong? Does this tip actually work? Has anyone used this tip?

I've had no problem with saving before the end of the a series to gain the car i want.I always save after the 2nd to last race in the series,but you have to be far enough ahead not to caught by the 2nd placed driver.I then START the last race and then quit it whilst sitting on the grid and go to the little awards ceremony and car selection stage.If i don't win the car i want i just reload and start again. :)
Strange to hear you're having problems,hope u get em sorted soon.
 
what you need to do is do the series race, and remember the # of races, and save the game after the 2nd to last race(10 races=after 9th race). then do the last race, and if you don't like the car, exit to the main menu(where you can choose to go to arcade mode, sim, ect)and go to load game. Load the game, and you'll be at the right place. Then just go to the last race, and get a diff car.
 
Wait, so if I save my game after, say the 7th race, and i exit the series, it will still let me finish it if I load it up again? It does sound sensible, but once I forgot to save after a race and turned it off, and when i played it again it acted like i had saved it. Eh, I dont know, I just takes what i gets.
 
Yeh, effectively, mathematically, you only need to win seven races out of the ten and can quit out of three and win the champ... even if the one car gets second every time. You will still have enough points to win - must be eleven points in front at race 9..... then save your game go to race 10 - start the race then quit it. Hit next to continue and you will be rewarded the champ and with a car. If it's not the car you wanted go back to the main menu screen and load up. You will be taken straight back to the beginning of race 10. Quit and continue until you get the car you want!! It's kinda cheating I know but I don't have the time to do 10 race champs over and over and over and plus - if the developers didn;t leave the loophole open we wouldn;t have found it.....
 
Zrow - I think what you were asking should be answered by this.

Once you save the series (so you mathematically can't lose the series), you then need to enter each of the remaining races and then exit straight out), you can't just exit the series.
